Should the quote at the top of the article really be the extremely long opening crawl? I'm thinking of changing it to Bastila's quote: "What greater weapon is there than to turn an enemy to your cause? To use their own knowledge against them?"

I changed it, let me know if anyone has an issue with the edit.

Pruning out the KOTOR II tropes and the "Both/Unsorted" folder. I've got all the stuff I removed in a sandbox in case anyone else wants to help put stuff in the right article (and yes it's called Kotor II tropes, but it has I tropes there too; I haven't sorted out what should be readded and what's a duplicate yet): Kotor II Tropes

Speaking of - now that it has its own page, we should really go through the "related" pages and link to it. There's a lot of trope pages that have II-exclusive examples that link to the main KOTOR page instead. I've already gone through quite a few, but considering there's over A THOUSAND links to this page on this wiki, it's going to take more than one person with a lot of time on their hands.

"* Canon Discontinuity: With the Disney acquisition, it has been stated all Expanded Universe material is now non-canon which unfortunately means this series as well."

Given how recent this announcement was, it's too soon to be sure about this. There's been discussion of SW fans (mostly Wookieepedians, understandably) with an official from Lucas Licensing, and while she did say "KOTOR is now considered non-canon", she also said to treat her comments regarding the video games with a grain of salt since everything is still so in flux. (All here.)

Agreed. I'm not saying KOTOR won't be thrown out at some point (though I personally find it a little unlikely since that means axing SWTOR as well), but right now focus seems to be on what to do about the post-movie canon.

Stick a pin in it until we know for sure one way or the other.

Should we say anything about the Difficulty Spike for the HK-50 factory, or not because it's only in mod, though it probably would have been if it made it into the game.

Penguin, the bit with Atris is something that should definitely be on the page (How did I never notice that?) but it doesn't match the foreshadowing trope. I'm not as familiar with gameplay tropes as I am with story tropes, but is there one for "Accidental Reveal" or "First Mission Spoiler" or something like that, to cover an instances where you can break the story and get late-game info right away?

Should we split KOTOR II into its own page? We do, after all, have different pages for Neverwinter Nights and Neverwinter Nights 2.

I don't think so. At least, not quite yet. There are diferences, yes, but they're similar enough that most of their gameplay tropes carry over from one to the other, so a lot of the page can work for either game. Also, the page is not too big for easy reading, which is another reason for splitting.

One concern that I do have, that might support splitting, is the issue of Late-Arrival Spoiler; the very first level of KOTOR II reveals the ending of KOTOR I, and you can't go into a very detailed discussion without a lot of the rest of the first game coming to light. Thoughts?

I think we should split them, as the spoiler issue is a big problem and it would be a lot more neat and organized if split, especially if you were looking for something specific from one of the games but hadn't played the other.

Okay, I know I was the one saying "No, don't split," but I've seen the error of my ways, this page really does need a split, it's a bit too ungainly and unwieldy. Being divided into three sections (First game, second game, both) leads to a lot of duplicated entries and mis-sorted info, and it's hard to really settle into a single style or theme.

So, who's up for a split?

It's been a week with no objection, so if nobody pops up in the next day or so I'm going to move forward with the split. Sorry, I held it up before.

I guess JBK never got around to splitting the pages. I'll do it myself.

EDIT: Never-mind that. The Page just redirects to the main one.

And split taken care of.

Is there a good reason why the Exile is able to appear behind the Handmaiden in the male continuity of kotor II (and I presume the disciple in the female) after Atris attacks her, even though there seems to have been no way for the Exile to find the academy again or is this a case of Fridge Logic?
09:40:07 AM Jan 10th 2011
Uh, the Exile already knows where the Academy is. Why wouldn't he be able to find it again? It's not like it moved or anything.
02:11:12 PM Jan 25th 2011
Most of the game is spent with the option available for the Exile to bemoan that he cannot return to the Academy without the landing codes, which the Handmaiden has, but won't give to him.

Although coming to think of it, Bao Dur should also know the codes, since he found it in the first place.

Split the upcoming MMORPG to its own page, because all the tropes on the KOTOR page are story-related and having them lumped together with a different game with a largely separate story is going to be a confusing clusterfuck.
