I feel like these should also be rules of the internet.
- . If it exists, there is lore of it.
- . If it doesn't have any lore, it will soon.
- . The longer the lore is, the weirder it gets.
- . If the main lore is copyrighted, it definitely has several A Us with their own wikis, art and fandoms.
Before anyone freaks out about the removal of the link, it now redirects to an extremely NSFW picture, and a comment has been inserted reflecting that and a request not to put it back in. Trust me when I say you do not want to see the picture.
Hide / Show RepliesShouldn't there be a second half of Rule 14, that Rule 14 doesn't apply if you are also a troll?
Edited by RuediiShould "Rule 85: If it exists, there is pony of it. No exceptions." really have been deleted? Sure, it may be covered by the rule mentioned in the deletion's comment, but I've seen Rule 85 elsewhere. Furthermore, the Rules of the Internet are meant humorously, not seriously. "If it exists, there is pony of it. No exceptions." is an obvious parody of Rule 34, and like Rule 34, it illustrates a universal phenomenon, at least of the past several years.
Should we reassign Rule 43 since Movie 43 (at least, the version with the "banned movie" Framing Device) has its own Rule 43?
Edited by NESBoy Hide / Show RepliesI doubt a single movie would be sufficient to rearrange the logic of the internet.
Who is Telcontar? Is there a rule that states, "Any slash pairing, no matter how improbable, will eventually be written?" It's basically a combination of rules 50 and 34, but it feels like it should be a rule of its own. I just stumbled across a Ramses/Moses slash club, so....... yeah.
Rule 591: based on XCKD 591. All trolling eventually creates a big "ironic" fandom or hatedom.
In Lost And Found, there is a query about (my words) "The longer a work is extant, the probability of such work using Time Travel as a plot device (whether as a main premise or as a Deus ex Machina) approaches 1."
That sounds to me like should be a Rule of the Internet. Is it?
Edited by DonaldthePotholer Hide / Show RepliesSounds like something from The Grand List Of Forum And Community Laws. (A quick "Find" search tells me no, weirdly enough.)
Edited by ModernTroperiaI'm surprised that "If an animal character exists, there is a human version. No exceptions." isn't there.
Hide / Show RepliesIt probably wasn't significant until Pokemon. Still, between that franchise and the Bronies, it should be codified.
EDIT: Conversely, the fact that these two franchises seem to be the vast majority of examples probably makes the "No Exceptions" clause untrue.

The rules have changed over the years, so does anyone think we should record that? For example, #42 used to be “It is delicious cake. You must eat it.” (supposedly a reference to Super Mario 64 according to Know Your Meme).
