Stargate SG-1: Samantha Carter, who ended the series as an unmarried colonel ("Black Widow Carter" and all that jazz). Amanda Tapping◊ was by that time a mom in her early forties. Some fans liked her looks better in Seasons 7-10 than earlier.

Removed here for discussion. The example lacks context whether the character herself or her family or friends were ever insecure about being an Old Maid. (Professional women are often spared from these thoughts. ;-) )
