My mind was blown when I noticed that. And now I'm just kind of sad.
There aren't any tropers. Only one person with a freakishly large amount of free time and a passion for everything.Truth in Television:
Ax Crazy dictators: not sure that they all belong on this list. Some of them, while brutal, seem too competent and together to really count as crazy. Would think that Saddam Hussein, Rafael Trujillo, and (possibly) Stalin (of the ones I know about) could be removed.
What does anyone think?
Truth in Television
"Sadly, this is also an example of Truth In Television, as Real Life ax crazies have been responsible for many horrible tragedies."
Yeah. Except, uhm, they haven't. I mean, for starters, the whole point of verdicts of "not guilty by reason of insanity" is that they're not responsible for their actions. "Crazies", mentally ill people, are significantly less violent than the population overall, and just because someone is mentally ill and commits a crime that doesn't establish a connection: Mexicans and Jews commit crimes, but that wouldn't make a racist depiction of them as fraudsters or hired killers Truth in Television.
Deleting Holiday trope and Slayer Christmas lights example. As the author states it could drive someone Ax Crazy it is NOT an example of this trope, rather just natter to show off a Youtube video. I don't see how it could fit into Troper Tales so it is deleted.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer — dropping this sub-example. As the natter points out this character is probably not a good example. Repair Dont Respond.
- Warren Mears.
- He only kills two people, both by accident (though one while attempting to kill another), so it's unclear if he fits in this category. He's pretty much a Complete Monster, but far too cowardly to go all the way to Ax-Crazy.
- Warren Mears.
Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Dropping this discussion: all is required is for the character to be psychologically unstable and present a clear danger to otheres. This subversion appears to relate to something specificially in-show.
- Higurashi is arguably a subversion of this trope: Shion aside, all the characters who appear to qualify for this trope are only like this when they're under the influence of a Hate Plague. At all other times, they're perfectly normal kids most people would love to be friends with
That point about being attracted to Axe Crazies... Where the hell did that come from?

Wow. I never noticed Ax Crazy was a homophone with Acts Crazy.
