I'm debating adding this one to the list of flagged works under the new propriety rules given much of the series does involve underage sex...
Hide / Show Replies^Sounds too much like it's a mainstream work. And it needs more than just "underage sex"
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDelete it, it's page admits that its transgender porn and was on a porn site at first.
Pulled:
- Pettanko: Lily and Jadis.
Pettanko is not a trope. UsefulNotes.Pettanko is a fanspeak term definition only. The tropes are A-Cup Angst (girl is sensitive about her lack of size) or Petite Pride (girl is proud of her flat-chestedness). Anything else is not a trope. Please return this example to the page under the correct trope if (and only if) it fits one of those two tropes.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I'd like to complain about this work being filed under the 'Literature' sub-heading, since that is now the default redirect for the page, rather than 'Web Original'. This means that if you want to view previous discussions and reviews, you have to replace 'Literature' in the URL with 'Web Original'.
Additionally, the work itself is much more of a Web Original work than a work of Literature, I'd like to request it be reverted to its previous state, but I have no idea how to and I'd like to check if there wasn't a prior discussion of this already.
Hide / Show RepliesWeb Original/ as a namespace has been dissolved. Works of writing hosted online now just go in Literature/. If this isn't just text but multimedia, see this thread to get an answer for where it should go.
That was the amazing part. Things just keep going. So, what's the policy for recommendations of stories? Fanfic Recs would be my first bet, but given the entire series is essentially fanfiction...
Even Evil Has Standards: In Ayla 7 part 1 ( http://www.crystalhall.org/Ayla%207-1.html ) the Don, leader of the Alphas, gets chewed out by Tansy Walcutt, for mind-controlling Cavalier and Skybolt with Hekate. Under a magical Thrall spell, the Don commanded them to do... things. When they got free due to the intervention of Fey and Generator, Cavalier and Skybolt went postal on the Don, putting him up in the hospital for at least two months.
Given Tansy's previous actions, should we add an Even Evil Has Standards entry?
Edited by Rythyrix"At last count there were over 340 different tropes cited, so this is a mere sample."
What exactly does that mean?
Hide / Show RepliesWhateley is Trope Overdosed. In addition to the tropes in the page, Whateley is listed (but not backlinked to) in hundreds of tropes. It's a circular effect — some of Whateley's authors are One Of Us (I myself have even written a FanFic of it) which means they farm the wiki for tropes to use in the series.
Well that, and a really bad case of Entry Pimping
"Wow. Sarcasm. That's original." -Dr. HorribleI have to agree, it's not as bad as it was but Whateley universe used to be on EVERY trope page, even if the trope wasn't really connected.
I think we have a major case of authors adding their own stories as examples of tropes just for the hits
No, not really. The entry pimping was actually done by a misguided fan of the series, not the authors themselves.
How's Whateley pronounced? "wait-lee" "what-eh-lee" "?"
Hide / Show RepliesDoes it matter?
There is a fine line between recklessness and courage — Paul McCartneyWhy is there no /Characters/ page for this yet? As many characters as there are in these stories, I'd say it's a necessity.
Hide / Show RepliesI agree. A character page should be needed, at least concerning the main characters first then the supporting characters and villains later
Definitely. Team Kimba + major villains, at least. Besides, it's already got the beginnings of one on the main page.
Edited by yinyang107Sect: Here's a thought on the A.I. Is a Crapshoot topic: the only time I noticed that AI had went rogue was with Mai in Merry's story. They do mention in story (in Ayla's storyline while he's talking to Loophole) that people are wary of AI, but that was because Dr. Palm was intentionally starting an AI rebellion, not because the AI went rogue. Mai, however, is a corruption of Palm's work, and could be considered playing the trope straight because she's not functioning as she was intended to.
