So... is there anything in particular I'd need to do to add an image, or does the site automatically make a static mirror of images? Asking because I'd like to add an image of gender-bent Laharl in his folder.

Of course, if someone else wants to do it for me, I won't complain.

I did not expect to have cause to use the line "STOP DROPPING YOUR ASSES!" but DQ 11 gave it to me. Hide / Show Replies

Never mind, I'm being stupid; I didn't scroll to the bottom, so I didn't see the blatant "Upload Image" thing there.

Can we get a picture of Krichevskoy from Disgaea 1 for his folder? Showing his Disgaea 4 appearance pretty much gives away his identity.

Wikipedia lists Etna as being bisexual. Is there anything to support this? All I could find that was indicative of this was some artwork of Etna and Fionne looking like they were about to kiss with a Prinny trying to cover its eyes in the background.

Adding this new topic for the argument regarding more minor characters since there's a minor edit war going on regarding Sardia and Lanzarote's inclusion.

As for my opinion on them, I personally don't think Sardia deserves an entry simply because she's such a one-note character who appeared in only one fight in the entire game, whereas the episode 4 was about getting to Lanzarote even if she only appeared in one fight and is a playable character. However, I think there are enough tropes for Sardia to stay plus she had an episode to herself in the Disgaea anime (which I thought was a waste of an episode to an already rushed and horribly done adaptation, but that's my personal opinion). Lanzarote needs more tropes though. Also, if Sardia is in, Krichevskoy's vassals needs to be included as well.

I don't think Sardia really needs an entry since she's a boss character who only shows up one time and has no significance to the story nor does she make any reappearances in any future NIS titles. Krichevskoy's vassals are already on the Character page under the Krichevskoy's Group folder.

Lanzarote, however, should stay. I'm already planning on updating the page when I get the time.

Oh I'm not talking about the Krichevskoy Group. I'm talking about the demons in the Overlord's Castle that lounge around and snark at Laharl, their Big Damn Heroes moment against the Alternate Overlord being the only exception.

Didn't notice this discussion months back, but reviving it.

Sardia's lone appearance is a non-issue. She is a named character, she has enough tropes to have a profile, she can be on the page. She is the boss of the stage, that is her significance. Otherwise Hoggmeiser wouldn't be here since before D2 he didn't appear again, and Porkmeister is barely more notable. I am taking this to Ask the Tropers, and if there is consensus to add her back, I am doing so.

"They're only a minor character" is not a reason for not including a character on a page. The only justification for removing a character entry is if they have no applicable tropes that can be listed. That is clearly not the case here.

I do not agree with the removal reasons, much less the edit warring about it. If there are sufficient character tropes, she can stay.

So is anyone going to put a picture of Xenolith? I find it odd how Sicily and Barbara have pictures yet Xenolith does not have a character image.

I know the page says Character tropes from Disgaea Dimension 2 should be placed here but what about the characters themselves? Should characters like Sicily and Xenolith be placed here as well or should there be a separate character page for them?

I'd say new characters be given a separate page

Looks like someone decided to put it all on one page.

I really want to put these in folders because the list of tropes here are huge (Especially Laharl's), but for some reason it never works. It's strange too because I've seen pages that managed to fit more into folders.

Would it be all right I changed Laharl's image out with this?:

image

I think it is much more representative of him and how he usually is, and the current image is kinda spoilerish because of the pendant.

IMO, the new image should use the art style from the first game, so as not to clash with the other characters.

Hey I am new her, and there is something that has been bugging me about one of the tropes listed on Etnas character tropes list, I just had to question the description of Etna as:

“Man Behind The Man: Of the Hyper Competent Sidekick variety, without her, the Netherworld would fall apart. She's really the one in charge of organization; and it's loyalty to the memory of Laharl's father that has her putting up with him.”

Especially the “Of the Hyper Competent Sidekick variety, without her, the Netherworld would fall apart” part, I don’t remember Etna doing anything in any game that was directly for the sake of the Netherworld or push Laharl to do so, the only thing was the zombie incident, and that was pretty minor thing that she used to teach Laharl a lesson. Laharl is always the one that does all the work, the thinking (coming up with plans) and generally doing his very best, the problems is that even if he puts all of his heart and soul into it, he is still a child with little to no experience, something that Etna shows almost no understanding of.

Though it is true that she does have immense power over him, as she can come with an ultimatum in order to push him to do whatever she wants him to do, so I guess she is kinda “in charge of organization”. The Hyper Competent Sidekick trope about Etna bugs me in general , as in the Prinny games Laharl is a Prinny, so the Overlord position is open and Etna has not taken it, even though Laharl asked her to take it if something happened to him(some sidekick she is).

In Prinny 2(I am from Europe, and the games is out on PSN her) one of the Prinnies mention that they think Etna does not want to deal with the responsibility of being an Overlord. But it is not like this is something new about Etnas character; Etna already in Etna Mode thought being the Overlord was “a big pain in the butt”, so it’s not like her fear of responsibility is a new thing.

And about the supposed Badass Decay Etna has received in the Prinny games compared to the main games; I would argue that the Prinny games are from the Prinnies perspective, and for a long time, even before the Prinny games, it has been exemplified that Etna treats the Prinnies horribly. So why would she seems like anything else but a spoiled brat in a game that is set from their perspective? The way I see it, it is brilliant.

I know then one see an example that seems wrong a troper is suppose to correct it, but I want to know what the troper in question was thinking about and what you guys think of this? I am new, so I don’t want to do something wrong.

First of all, Welcome To TV Tropes! If you have any further questions on rules or etiquette, inquire at Ask The Tropers.

Second, when deleting examples, you can either leave your explanation in the edit reason box or, if it's a lengthy reason and you wish to discuss it in detail, place it on the talk page like you've done now.

Third, I'd have to say your reasoning is valid. I'll remove the examples.
