Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
Yikes. People edit waring over someone's option, not a good look. Someone needs to notify the op.
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”Is that name even allowed?
Thomas fans needed! Come join me in the the show's cleanup thread!I don't think so. I'm pretty sure user names must start with a letter.
Narm is allowed. It's flame bait banner it a glitch, I asked.
Narm it moments supposed to serious that come off as unintentionally funny. Being "unintentionally humorous" isn't this trope it if it was still meant to be non-serious.
I can't tell if the case form the entry, but deleting YMMV because of personal feeling seems a big strike against especially if it's edit warring.
^ They were asking about the username, not about Narm.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThere's no rule against usernames that don't start with a letter (although it messes with pings and you can't make a Tropers/ page), but I feel like names that are intentionally obnoxious to look up, such as Thirteen Consecutive Underscores here, shouldn't be allowed.
I don't think Thirteen Underscores knows what "intentional" means. If the creators clearly set it up to be a humorous scene, you can't list it as Narm for the same reasons it was intended to be humorous.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Wasn't there another recent report about this user?
I'm having trouble finding it because, shock of all shocks, typing underscores into the search bar doesn't actually do anything.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^^ I assume they mean something like "I'm laughing at the writers of this game over how terrible and cringeworthy that 'joke' was". But yeah, it's still misuse either way.
^ If that's the case, should I remove it and cite this discussion as my reason?
Update, found the discussion they were originally mentioned in.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^ Yeah, I already linked that discussion in my original post, since I thought it would be relevant to bring up.
Ah, could've saved myself the search. :P
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessMoved the entry to the discussion page. Normally _____________ would be due for stronger discipline but Zaptech is very fond of deleting YMMV entries for at best marginal reasons.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWe need to have a discussion about Narm, because that entry doesn’t even really fit and needs to be removed. There’s nothing dramatic about that scenario at all, and Narm mostly gets used as “thing I found to be stupid in the work.”
As-written the entry doesn't even establish that since as I pointed out on the discussion page, it just describes the scene, not stating that it's funny or stupid or anything.
If you change narm to Crowning Moment Of Funny or Fridge Horror it would make just as much sense.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Maybe we should take this to Narm cleanup to see what they think? (Though even within that thread, there's disagreement on what counts as Narm, but this appears to be a comedic moment so I'd say it should stay cut.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.
On the YMMV page for Hades, troper _____________ added an example for Narm:
A few days later, Zaptech removed this example, with the edit reason "Pretty sure that this is intentionally humorous.". Then, a few days after that, _____________ added it back, with the edit reason, "Well, I find it unintentionally humorous.".
I decided to bring this here because, besides it officially being an Edit War, this seems to being something that _____________ has done before (ie. add a YMMV example based more on his own opinions than the general opinion of the fans), as a comment on this post for Demon's Souls brought up him doing this with an example for Anti-Climax Boss
