Still just a Tropes Are Not Good example of Executive Meddling.
Watch out for misblaming, too: things like Torch the Franchise and Run or Protection from Editors run amok can look like Executive Meddling.
Is there a subtrope of Executive Meddling where the meddling in question goes against the wishes of the viewers, with the execs themselves never catching on?
For example: Suppose The Alice and Bob Show has lackluster ratings, with viewers complaining about the level of gratuitous sex. The execs, however, think that the best way to bolster ratings is to increase the amount of gratuitous sex. This alienates the viewers and lowers the ratings, and the execs respond with even more gratuitous sex, further driving down the ratings until they hit rock-bottom and the show is cancelled.
