Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

It is absolutely fine. I would not be surprised if it wasn't fairly common, in fact. Note that we frown on creators adding Audience Reactions items about their work, however.

Migrated to Chloe Jessica! Objective tropes that anyone can verify? Go for it.
YMMV tropes? Only if you're moving them from main to YMMV or correcting spelling grammar.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettYMMV tropes (as in, all YMMV things not on Audience Reactions) are problematic. They tend to involve a degree of audience response but don't qualify as Audience Reactions because they have in-story elements. Because of this, there is a bit more merit to authors adding them but it's to be done with care.

Is it ethical/accepted to add content related to a video game made by me? Obviously I wouldn't make an advertisement, but I still feel it might be frowned upon.
So... what's the policy?
