Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

The more recent translation is preferred, otherwise I'd be stuck calling my favourite franchise "Rupan the Third". Concurrent translations get a bit more leeway; Detective Boy Conan and Case Closed are both English translations of the same work.

After all, if an adaptation completely renamed a character, we wouldn't expect the work page for the adaptation to call the character by the source material's name.
The Manga.Kiniro Mosaic page you linked to specifically introduces the example list with "This manga provides examples of," so I would expect manga names/spellings and would not expect to see anime examples commingled on the same page. If there are trope examples that need to reference a character's portrayal in both works, e.g., an trope on the anime page related to about adaptation changes, then that could be clarified when it comes up, e.g., "[Anime Name] ([Manga Name in the manga)...," the same as if an adaptation completely renamed a character.
Edited by NotOnAnyFlatbreadAs a pre-emptive question: if this kind of edit (assuming a non-controversial one) involves characters(s) ascended to the Pantheon, may I directly edit the Pantheon pages?
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaThat seems like an issue that should be raised in the Pantheons thread. I don't feel like anyone outside of that group can make a good decision.

The anime adaptation of Manga.Kiniro Mosaic has been officially translated by Sentai Filmworks in 2013, but Yen Press' manga translation only released yesterday. There are some differences between how the names were romanized between the versions, in some cases not de minimis by the standards of Spell My Name With An S.
My question is: are there any guidelines, etc., that recommends using the name used by the source medium, or things of this nature should be handled by consensus? Not that this change, on its own, would be controversial, but I can't rule out similar situations that can cause Edit Wars.
