"Another point of confusion are ..." is a separate example, which I'd cut instead of separating for being nonsensical, accusatory to the author, and touching on No Lewdness, No Prudishness. (If people were drawn in by assuming it's ecchi when it isn't and never even looked like, either the troper speaks for themselves or it needs citing what degree of audience were that dense.)

The Genre Roulette part sounds like a valid note, but it could be trimmed. It only needs to clarify what "genres" it's rouletting and how some degree of the audience prefer only one or the other of the two.

I thought Uncertain Audience is used for a work that fails because it doesn't know which audience it wants to attract. Because if it is, this isn't an example considering how successful Zombie Land Saga is.

Uncertain Audience doesn't mention it has to be a flop, only that Target Audience in unclear and alienated some parts of viewers that are interested in one thing and not the other.

Noting here that there's an open wick check for this trope as it attracts misuse for "Why wasn't this work aimed at me?"

The first part has some validity. I thought it did well in changing from a horror, to a satirical idol show (idols are walking corpses, geddit) to something more like a genuine idol show, but it was a risky approach with no clear existing audience, and the production team have said they were not expecting it to be so successful. And I was rather disappointed by how the music became mostly idol-type songs after the first few episodes (first season, at least).

The second part can go. "Bust size chart" is surely a basic requirement in character sheets to keep things consistent. Sakura's apparent school uniform is weird in how it emphasises the bust, but otherwise it's normal designs for a show like this.

Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.

I'd cut "Another point of confusion" and everything after that, yet keep the rest of the entry.

The second bit reads like a (probably incorrect) Best Known for the Fanservice entry shoehorned into an unrelated trope. It's like saying Resident Evil Village was trying to market itself as a porn game because of Lady Dimitrescu.

Agree with pulling, but I'd suggest cutting it a sentence earlier, before "Indeed, a lot of the humor is actually very safe and child friendly mostly relying on funny faces or reaction shots." That bit seems nattery and not all that relevant to the example.

We could. But also every example here is open-edit, so there's no stopping either approach.

    Edits comparison for future reference

The Genre Roulette aspects of the series make it unclear who is actually the target audience. The first couple episodes go really hard on the inherent Horror theme of zombies being gross, decayed corpses. They also went hard on the parody aspect, where the girls participated in a litany of musical genres including heavy metal and rap music. But then that disappears aside from one or two gags in future episodes. Indeed, a lot of the humor is actually very safe and child friendly mostly relying on funny faces or reaction shots. Another point of confusion are some of the character designs, particularly of Sakura, Yugiri and Tae all of whom have very large breasts, complete with a bust size chart in the model sheets. The show is in no-way an ecchi, so their curvaceous figures were probably just Author Appeal but more than a few viewers were drawn in because they were told about "The anime with the titty zombies."

The Genre Roulette aspects of the series can make it unclear who is actually the target audience. The first couple episodes go really hard on the inherent Horror theme of zombies being gross, decayed corpses, before subverting that to lean into the Idol parody aspect, where the girls participated in a litany of musical genres including heavy metal and rap music with very comedy heavy episodes framing these events. The show since then has bounced back and forth between its different ideas, sometimes leaning closer to a more standard idol show, with some arguing that not sticking to one direction over the other weakens the experience.

The Genre Roulette aspects of the series might not not completely sell the series to some. On one hand, there's plenty of moments that go fairly hard on the inherent Horror theme of zombies being gross, decayed corpses, yet there's an equal amount of moments where their zombie qualities are framed comedically, all while leaning into the Idol aspects as well (both conventional and parody). Some enjoy the show for it's unique mix of all the above, but others believe that not sticking to one direction over the other weakens the experience.

I actually wasn't sure if that's an editwar because the text was different, but looking closely it does seem Codafett added sentences that were removed.

Bump for mod input. Should the problem with the brought up editwar go to new query or it's enough?

New Query, probably. Mods tend to ignore things like this unless a new query is made.
