Yeah uh their was kind of an issue he was having where he would outright whitewash villains. (Especially horrifically evil ones).

Draco in Leather Pants, my favorite trope /s.

On a more serious note, I'd revert these changes and (if you get enough consensusnote ) cite this discussion.

I'm not sure what revisions you want to make here. Asshole Victim already got added back, and the Hate Sink (he's got too many Pet the Dog moments early on), Karmic Death (not sure what bifurcation has to do with his misdeeds), and Moral Myopia cuts seems pretty reasonable. I'd add back the Kick the Dog examples, those seem like a legit example of that trope.

They're still editing Stranger Things pages - should these be reverted as well?

^^ Well, the YMMV entries still need to be reverted unless we can prove its a popular opinion and not just DolphZ.

Additional entries also probably need reverting since they're still doing this.

Speaking of whitewashing Jason Carver, there are also these entries on the recap page for Season 4, Episode 9:

  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character: Jason is similarly a divisive character, but he's an earnest young man trying to solve the murder of his girlfriend, who he genuinely cared about. He's not a zealot, and as the captain of the basketball team, he is compassionate. He's sensitive to Lucas being hesitant to go on the witch hunt. Yet with considerable character development, by this episode, he's apparently become unhinged and dies — but NOT actually because he became unhinged. He's just another random victim of 001.
  • They Wasted a Perfectly Good Plot: Any hint of the Hellfire Club and Jason’s crew working together is thrown out the window because of the latter gang acting like zealous vigilantes.

Aside from the fact that these examples blatantly lionize Jason while downplaying his consistently bigoted and violent behavior, I'm also pretty sure that they're misuse, since "They Wasted a Perfectly Good Character/Plot" refers to potentially interesting characters or plot points being underdeveloped or not getting enough exposure. These are just complaints about Jason being portrayed as a villain and not redeeming himself in the end.

Suspended since villain whitewashing is still a problem, and locking since this query got long.
