Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

UPDATE: I have added the updated header to every Hitman page besides the Side Characters pages themselves, as I feel editing a page when there's an issue might not be good practice.
This is not the first time they've created pages like this: Medieval Cop The Invidia Games Characters, for instance, is full of empty folders, and other Medieval Cop character pages still have the "some caption text" caption under the images. They also added headers to them that ask for others to not edit them.
TRS Wick CleaningI see this alot when tropers feel that their favorite work deserves to have completely separate subpages and folders to show how important the work is.
I'm sending a rudeness notifier for the commented out note in case one hasn't been sent.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meWell, that's not how this wiki works. TV Tropes is a collaborative effort. If this person wants to create pages they themselves edit alone they should be using their sandbox. Actually, they should probably be using a sandbox anyway, so that they have a valid page before publishing it. I'm not even sure why you would want to edit a page by yourself?
Edited by Hello83433 CSP Cleanup Thread | All that I ask for ... is diamonds and dance floorsAs a fan of the Hitman games, I would say having folders for every single NPC is unnecessary. The fact that they're blank only furthers the issue.
Ducksrulesoon 44 also put a note saying the page is under construction, which seems weird.
Another thing of note - The list of the empty folder includes things like bodyguards and nameless characters (like I said above, some of whom don't even have much dialogue or characterization), and there are a lot of Flat Character links. It very much feels like a quantity over quality thing.
So should I remove the Flat Character and empty entries citing this thread?
The folders should definitely be deleted, but I fear that Ducksrulesoon 44 will just put it right back in.
I didn't choose the troping life, the troping life chose meGo ahead and remove them.
Someone needs to clean up Medieval Cop The Invidia Games Characters page, including the note.
“What is that? It's The Unknown!”I've deleted the empty folders from the Hitman 2 & 3 pages. I haven't tackled the Hitman 2016 page yet - many of the folders only have one trope, most of which are generic to NPCs in the games as a whole (Mugged for Disguise, Flat Character, Video Game Cruelty Potential, ect.). Should these be cut?
TRS Wick CleaningHi.
Given that Ducksrulesoon 44 was taking his sweet time adding context to empty folders, I decided to do the job myself. While I agree that quite a few of the NP Cs listed didn't need folders, I felt that at least some of the NPC folders that were removed could have been provided with more context in the future.
On a side note, the links that I put to the other pages are all stuck on Hitman 3. Does anyone know how to change that?
In terms of who I think should have been kept: Hitman 2 Albert Noah, Derek Mc Innis, Maxwell Rutter, Antoine Mack, Bhavin Sagar, Soham Hussain, Mira Kham, James Batty, Jose Alvarez, Dale Anderson, Axel Phinigger, Constantin, “Original Five” (maybe merge with Block), Marek Sinclar, William Garret, Ruby Red, Dr. Singh, Hilda Sorbetto
Hitman 3 Richard Voltaire, Leonard Parsons, Junli Xu, Pablo Llosa and Miguel Llosa, Kenneth Flowers
Admittedly some of these NP Cs may not actually be important enough to deserve their own folders. What I do know is that silvio caruso, a You Tuber, has done quite a few videos on the dialogue within the World of Assassination trilogy, with a few of these listed NP Cs being the focus of a few of their videos.
Feel free to recreate them at, for example Sandbox.Hitman 2 Side Characters. Non-sandbox namespaces shouldn't be used for work-in-progress stuff.

About a week or two ago the user Ducksrulesoon 44 decided to split the character pages for Hitman (2016), Hitman 2 and Hitman 3 into three side character pages (in order, here, here, and here). However, while doing so they made several blank folders for NPCs without any special dialogue or characterization. They also forgot to link these pages back to the header of each character page (which I am in the process of doing), alongside on the side character pages themselves.
On November 23 the empty folders folders were removed by Dribbleondo, who added a commented-out not explaining not to add empty folders because it makes the page messy and incomplete. Earlier today Ducksrule readded the folders, replacing the notes by accusing anyone removing them of "vandalising the page" and that they're there because "this page is under construction". I have only linked the pages relating to 2016, but these apply to 2 and 3 as well.
