Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread

Captain Crawdad also removed stuff from Character Shilling without reason.
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.Captain Crawdad's removals seem valid, as they involve removal of natter and aversions. It would've been nice for them to have an edit reason though.
The examples removed by Badguy 2014's on the other hand seem to have been valid and were unilaterally removed:
- (From Naruto) Sakura is this through most of Shippuden (the most glaring being the Kazekage Rescue Arc and the Tenchi Bridge Arc) with her "newfound healing abilities and fighting style." The former sure, but not the latter. She either lost or was coddled during all of her fights outside of filler arcs and even came close to death early on, even though she hardly pulled her weight.
- Kingdom Hearts:
- Kairi was never going to be very popular (being a female Love Interest in a fandom dominated by Yaoi Fangirls), but the franchise keeps insisting that she's unique and special. The only way they show this is by making her a Princess of Heart. She eventually fades into the background later in the series — until Dream Drop Distance's Stinger reveals she'll finally be trained with a Keyblade. Even then, she's kidnapped and immediately killed by Xehanort in the climax of Kingdom Hearts III, leaving many fans feeling as though they wasted her potential.
- Master Xehanort is regarded as a master strategist who can predict nearly anything "to some extent". However, as this is only after Dream Drop Distance Retconned the other villains' actions (already seen as a Gambit Pileup Kudzu Plot) into being All According to Plan for him, many fans just think he's extremely lucky at the Gambit Roulette. Likewise, the narrative and his Reports paint him as a genuine Well-Intentioned Extremist seeking Balance Between Good and Evil for Light and Darkness, but tragically Jumping Off the Slippery Slope in the end. However, his onscreen persona has yet to be anything but a Devil in Plain Sight Sociopath responsible for the worst of Dark Is Evil so far.
- In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Kokushibo praises Sanemi along with Gyomei as the strongest Hashira of their generation; in Gyomei’s case this statement is supported by several other characters in the series, official data and actual feats shown in the story that Gyomei indeed is the strongest; despite the fact Sanemi is shown to be extremely pain tolerant and very determined, not much in the series and data is shown to support him as the second strongest Hashira of his generation.
The first example seems valid, the second although I am not familiar with KH seems valid also if true, the third seems valid IMHO.
Thoughts?
Edited by matruzEh, the Sakura one is sort of a ZCE since it never actually says she was shilled. It says she's "this", and that means you could replace it with another trope (Faux Action Girl, Damsel in Distress, The Load) and it'd still make sense. But that's a reason to rewrite it, not cut it.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure Pureness^How about this:
- After the Timeskip Sakura was shilled by her teacher, Kakashi, and others (the most glaring being the Kazekage Rescue Arc and the Tenchi Bridge Arc) for her "newfound healing abilities and fighting style." The former sure, but not the latter. She either lost or was coddled during all of her fights outside of filler arcs and even came close to death early on, even though she hardly pulled her weight.
Bumping up, since they've now made an edit on My Hero Academia: Abridged, in which they removed some accurate descriptions of the relationship between Midoriya and Uraraka in canon without an edit reason, the nature of the edit is suspect since looks like shipping bias.
Badguy2014 has been removing several seemingly valid examples in the page Character Shilling without an edit reason.
I've sent them a PM but they've yet to reply.
EDIT: They seem to also be removing several Ho Yay references from examples which seem relevant, as well as any mention to sexual abuse. There seems to be an agenda here.
