Since we seem to have multiple topics about That Guy With The Glasses, I think it might be a good idea to just have them all here.

It would be a lot easier for me if you imagine there's something funny or interesting here.

So, what did you think of him insulting Mako, I know he's never gonna live it down, but how do you think his performance was in TMNT? I thought it was a good departure from the other Splinters. Admittedly, I was one of the angry fanboys, unfortunately, but I continued to watch the reviews despite that little fluke, appreciating it when he apologized.

Aside from Mako, the reviews are well thought out.

The new Superman IV review is hilarious. Linkara's reaction to the NC's Big-Lipped Alligator Moment pop-up is hilarious.

It would be a lot easier for me if you imagine there's something funny or interesting here.

You really gotta appreciate how much effort the NC puts into his videos. Hes basically running a two-man 25 minute weekly TV show that manages to be consistently funny every episode. Considering how inconsistent other internet personalities are, that's pretty admirable.

More than weekly, really, once you include Ask That Guy With The Glasses and Bum Reviews.

Was the Bum review of District 9 a total failure of comedy? Film at 11.

The Casper review was probably the most impressive one. Quite possibly the only time a cartoon gimmick character in a review has ever been well done.

"Get over it, ya comic nerd, your special effects suck."

"Bat Credit Card." "A BAT CREDIT CARD?! I'LL KILL YOU, I'LL KILL ALL OF -"

is possibly my favourite gag so far on the entire site.

I didn't like his District Nine review. I thought he spent more time bashing the film than he did joking about it, which is unfortunate because that's the exact opposite of the way the Bum Reviews usually go.

Otherwise, I love that site. I'm looking forward to his Star Wars Holiday Special review in December, though I'm nervous that he might make some cheap, unfunny George Lucas jokes. Still, I want to see him tear the special to pieces.

Now where do I go to comment on specifics? I'm asking in this thread because it involves a statement about Doug 'obviously' never reading "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory", and I need to find out where to ask what said troper is referring to.

"Why so serious?" "Because I dance with the devil in the pale moonlight."

Did anyone see Film Brain's latest review? I thought the part at the end where Mike Michaud and Doug verbally brutalize him for giving a bad review for Equilibrium was funny. I know it was probably scripted, but if the thing were real, it makes me feel sorry for how everyone hates him for this one sticking point.

I personally don't get why everyone likes Equilibrium so much, either. It's just so... lame. You've got, granted, awesome fight scenes and the crying-listening-to-classical-music thing, and those are honestly the only two sort-of good parts. The kid turning out to be off his meds just pissed me off, because it means he's been turning people in anyway, and that's... kind of evil.

It's not as good as Dark City, and Dark City was pretty damned silly.

Gotta say, though, that was the worst episode in a while.

I think the Running Gags with Casper were only good for one episode, now he's just using the character and gags too much, DO WE NEED TO SEE CASPER IN EACH OF HIS NEW REVIEWS!?!

I treat Casper the same as any of the other of the running gags. If it's funny, you can't see it too much. If it's obviously shoehorned, it's an abomination to mankind. I personally wouldn't mind if Casper cameos were limited to the "Timing!" gag, as long as the (ahem) timing was appropriate.

Etheru Since: Jul, 2009

That's what I mean, the "TIMING!" gag is what's annoying, it has been appearing since the Casper review, count how many reviews after Casper that don't have that gag in it, then again, he couldn't have put it in that many times. And now he's started to put in the EXPOSITION SONG? Oi. Casper is an Overused Running Gag.

Transmission Awesome had LordKat on last episode, the guy behind the "Until We Win" series, and man is that guy foulmouthed. Funny as hell, but damn.

He also went hilariously ballistic when it was suggested that Super Mario World was overrated.

I am currently on a Nostalgia Critic archive binge. The Garbage Pail Kids one...the mere short clips of the film made that episode hard to watch, despite his efforts. I won't be seeing the whole movie anytime soon.

Some writing.

The Congo review was okay. Funny moments, but not one of his best.

Still can't wait for the Star Wars Holiday Special.

Er guys, he's had just two episodes since Casper and he's only used him twice. It's a little early to start calling him overdone and inundating the reviews.
