- People announcing their departure or return.
- Moderators announcing a significant forum ban — not trolls or vandals, but someone people will notice and miss.
- Inquiries about an absent troper.
- Responses to inquiries about an absent troper.

I've decided to come back after my three days of idling over my personal tragedy. I miss you guys too much to stay away for long, and my grandfather wouldn't have wanted me to stay in a constant depressive funk, even over him. "Whatever happens, happens," is what he would say.

University has set me three pieces of homework due in over the next few weeks. Thus, time on here will be short and sweet, effectively - my breaks at university will probably be spent on doing these homework tasks.
Also unrelated, I might be cutting back on here for more personal reasons. I understand that I am a mainstay on here, and that's probably the reason why I post as much (or as little) as I do. But I don't know, I feel this site is more of a routine than an actual destination for me nowadays, especially since the majority of the people I liked on here post so irregularly that they dropped out (notable examples including Zx; Allan, and others) or have moved off-site onto the various social networks I hook up to (which, BTW a quick PM from any of you can be added upon).
Not to mention the various guises this site is going through.
In short; I'm saying that this site offers diminishing returns on my investment in time.
I'm not leaving forever. Nobody fucking leaves this place forever; they come back eventually. But I'm probably going to wean myself off here.
Or everything I've just said from "personal reasons" onwards is just bullshit because, like I said, nobody fucking leaves this place (unless you're really dedicated, which I can't be arsed to be).

I'm sure I can invent a third option, father.
I just want to say that I'll be leaving TV Tropes. I first found this site only a couple of weeks before The Great Crash, so it's been nearly six yearsnote . It's been a good run, but given certain issues (mainly pertaining to the fallout from the Second Google Incident), I feel that, ultimately, the atmosphere here is no longer fun for me. Thus, I'm no longer going to be actively participating in either the wiki or the forums.
Thank you all for the great times I've had here over the years.
