Hitler is harmless by himself. Besides, by the end of the war, Germany was shattered as a country and in no power to fight for his freedom.
My Twitch.IIRC correctly one of the problems during the French War was that the European Settlers and Natives had different ideas about what to do with prisoners. Settlers captured enemy combatants or let them flee (and IIRC if captured would send them home under the promise they wouldn't fight anymore, I'll double check that) in contrast Natives just out right slaughter the enemy down to the last man to be sure they wouldn't fight anymore.
The many cultural/philosophy/history classes I've taken have made me see the world is by no means black and white.
I want there to be "a better way" too, but what is a "better way"?

I'm not having this discussion, because you're forcing me into the "white" argument when I've basically said that it's all gray.
My Twitch. You're forgetting that by that time, millions of people worldwide wanted him dead for indirectly causing the death of either a relative or a close friend. Keep that in mind: He had the blood of 60 million people on his hands.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.See previous post.
I need to get back to work on my webcomic scripting. Realized my world isn't as fine-tuned as I'd like...
My Twitch.Generally, people who go to jail tend to come out worse than they went in. So, yeah.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimari[[quotebloc]] You've also got Asakura/Kaede claimed from way the hell ago, apparently [[/quoteblock]]
Hey, whoever said 'double dipping' wasn't allowed?
You know you want to add loveSorry. Didn't mean to make you feel you were being backed into a corner.
Also I wasn't discussing the death penalty for criminals-I know that topic can cause a lot of debate so I was trying to avoid that-but war and revolution and what typically happens to the leaders of the losing side.

There's no such thing as only Gray-and-Grey Morality, IMO. It's Black-Grey-White continuum where there things that are clearly white or black, and a lot more things that are countless shades of grey. Hitler's (and anyone else of his mold's) crimes are solid Black. End of story.
I dunno about you, but I doubt that you'd keep your mindset if you end up having a relative or friend murdered in cold blood.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Nobody. I just figured that as long as you were writing a harem snippet, you might be able to do that other one so it could finally be checked off.
And I damn well better never have to.
Can we not have this chat anymore? This is getting way too personal for me.
My Twitch.Gladly. Even if I really do get ticked off by anti-death penalty stuff that goes as far to take the side of first-murder convicts; makes me feel like they're hypocrites when they defend the lives of people who remorselessly and post-fact-unregretfully took lives with no good reason, I shouldn't have taken it too personally here. Sorry.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I blame you, Eva, for dragging me into this. If you didn't mention me, I could have happily gone about my day working on my webcomic.
My Twitch.I'll start writing them tonight after my midterm
You know you want to add loveThere is no black and there is no white. There's only blue and orange.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariOi, I keep telling you guys to quite picking on my kohai!
I don't see a difference between "black vs. white" and "blue vs. orange"; they're both pairs of chromatic opposites.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Things are also very magenta.
My Twitch.Magenta is evil and is trying to take over the world. We must join together to defeat Magenta.
Blue and Orange are the colors of Goku's uniform.

himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariOn the Rape Topic: There is one fic I've read that actually seem to handle the issue somewhat decently. It was also long and multi-chaptered going up to 50 or so chapters IIRC giving all the characters focus to pace things out.
Of course considering nearly every other Rape Fic I've read was basically "Character A is raped by Character B, and Character C comes in to comfort Character A and the two quickly get together and may or may not have sex later" or "Character A Rapes Character B and B falls in love with A' any other take on the situation would look better.

Rape in fanfiction is all too common and improperly used.
For some reason, whenever connotations of rape arise, women suddenly become strangely docile and submissive, even if they should, in all seriousness, be capable of kicking all amounts of ass.
himitsu keisatsu seifu chokuzoku kokka hoanbu na no da himitsu keisatsu yami ni magireru supai katsudou torishimariI find Rape as Drama to be incredibly overused and not-the-least interesting
You know you want to add loveOM, I have a question for you: Were you the one who mentioned wanting to do a Garfield Royal Rescue parody? I'm asking because I was struck by inspiration today, and typed up pretty much all of one of my own. Do you mind if I post it?
And now I think we're even.

@No Limit: Do I need to invoke Godwin's Law, Mr. Wide-Eyed Idealist?
Deterrence should also taken into consideration as well. Making conviction of first-degree murder an automatic death sentence and strictly enforcing it (which necessiates a competent law enforcement to capture those arrogant enough to think they can get away with it) nicely scares off a good deal of potential first-degree murderers through fear of punishment alone.
