I LOVE this series. It's Game Theory: The Comic.
You've basically gone through the premise chapter up to where you are now. Things get much more convoluted very quickly. Trust me.
(Art is kind of annoying, but the ridiculously huge gaping mouths for shouting people bug me more than use of particular facial angles.)

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI think the art is pretty much acceptable. The story fucking kicks ass though.
Oh, the art's gotten much better since the beginning. Angry characters have stopped looking like they could swallow their own heads in a couple of bites. Story is still far and away more awesome, though.

The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable...wait, this is a manga about applied game theory?
This is a manga about Con Men applying Game Theory.

It's like Death Note, but instead of arbitrary fantasy rules, you get arbitrary game rules instead! But then again, the latter is rooted in realistic human psychology and logic.
(And the latest round involves warfare-based strategy too. It's epic, trust me.)
Suddenly, this manga sounds interesting.
Actually, the whole setup of Liar Game arguably works better. In Death Note new rules suddenly appeared when it was plot convenient and some 'deductions' of both the antagonists felt rather forced. I've never felt this way with Liar Game. The art pales in comparison to Obata's drawing though.
I'm not a bug, I'm a feature!I agree completely. Liar Game wins hands down in terms of logical deductions. But Death Note wins in terms of art.
Technically it's abduction, not deduction. It's inference to best solution rather than the conclusion following from the premises. This kind of reasoning is particularly vulnerable to the fact that the best solution is rarely empirically knowable, so the author can accidentally make smart characters look stupid if the audience can come up with an even better solution. It's for this reason that Liar Game is more enjoyable if you just take everything they say at face value rather than trying to come up with anything on your own.
I'd say Death Note relies on abductive reasoning even more than Liar Game.

Trying to come up with anything of your own??? Why, I'd like to see you try! By the second Revival Round I was so utterly, helplessly lost I just gave up on reasoning and followed the plot to wherever it may lead... and then I just gave up on the story, period. Man, did my head hurt...
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?Hmm? The second revival round was pretty straightforward. The third round, however...
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."They both use it very heavily, although I won't argue the point that Death Note might abuse it more. My point was simply that people keep misusing the word "deduction."
^ I'm talking about the one about hiding MUNEY.
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?The smuggling game? That's about the point where I decided to just go along for the ride. And then the Prisoner's Dilemma showed up. Cue audible exclamations of glee.

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe smuggling game? I followed the logic of that one, but the next revival round my brain became burnout.

You all need to check out the live action series :) Now that takes the over-the-top dramatics to new levels.
All I can say is..
*Whacks the button* DOUBT!!! 100 Million
Democracy is the process in which we determine the government that we deserveOh, planning on it. As soon as Brotherhood wraps up, most likely.
Although... I hear the live-action series ends soon after the musical chairs game. Is this so? And is it likely that the manga will do the same? That would be extremely disappointing, especially now that there's a nifty Batman Gambit Mêlée à Trois going on...
Yeah... I can follow along after the fact, but trying to stay ahead is completely impossible for me at this point.

The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable???WHY FATBOY SLIM'S RIGHT HERE RIGHT NOW?? AND NOW REQUIEM FOR A DREAM???
OMG, you're right, it's incredibly OTT... I LOVE IT!
The female lead's role is still to make big eyes and cry, though.
'''YOU SEE THIS DOG I'M PETTING? THAT WAS COURAGE WOLF.Cute, isn't he?I refuse to watch the live action because of Fukunaga. Oh. God. Fukunaga.
Also, Nao is becoming increasingly kickass with every successive round. She's starting to remind me a little of Nodoka actually.
WHAT? The manga's going to end after the musical chairs game?! Where did you hear that from?!
@Clarste: I think "logical reasoning" would be a better umbrella term, yes? Since it covers both deductive and abductive reasoning.

I was wondering if that was the case because I heard that that was when the live-action ended. It could be it ended there because the author hadn't planned out anything further at that point, or it could be because that's the intended endpoint for the manga as well. I don't know.
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI assumed that it was because the manga had only serialized up to that point when the live action was filming... as far as I know it's still ongoing...
Man, I wish this would come out in the States. Scans hurt my eyes.
Where everything is dramatic.
It's not just a proper contract. It's a proper contract.
This has been bothering me more than I should let it, but this is the first Manga I've ever read, and they use this specific face angle all the time whether it's appropriate or not. Also, what I've read so far (everything up to this^ page) has been fairly predictable, but it's still pretty entertaining.
