What made you write what you did for your signature?

My quote comes from this particular page of my favourite manga series Battle Angel Alita. If you've read it, you'd know the context, and in the context, it's pretty badass!

Whenever I'm starting a thread, usually one intended to garner people's thoughts/opinions on something, I sometimes end the post with "Your turn"/"And you?"/"Your thoughts?"

One time I used my current siggy in such manner and decided it was a catchy signature.

My current signature merely consists of a link to my troper page.

My old one (on the old fora) consisted of a string of avatars/icons representing various series I like, including Neon Genesis Evangelion, La-Mulana, Mega Man Zero, Cave Story, Nethack, Golden Sun, Metroid, and Chrono Trigger, IIRC.

Can we have sig images here?

I found my quote somewhere a long time ago, when I was on my first forum, a Total Annihilation fansite. I haven't been there in years, but I have used this quote in most other fora I visit. I like it, since I'm inordinately curious, and frequently bored.

"Ignorance has always been something I excel in / Followed by naïveté and pride"

It's a quote from King Crimson, one of my favourite bands.

Every now and then I get bored of a quote and change it. My last one was the decidedly cynical "Six million ants crawling on a plate / None of them give back as much as they take".

Like my avatar, it's something I made up that just kinda stuck. Something vague, silly, and a little bit cute. Or something like that.

This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...

Fairly Odd Parents: Wanda states an Aesop (one of the many soon to be forgotten by our child protagonist)and Cosmo attempts to ruin the mood right before putting on a conga dress and singing La Cucaracha very badly.

Used to be a Nietzsche quote I really liked, but now it's from last week's episode of Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me, when the panel was asked about the Iraqi journalist who threw his shoes at President Bush.

My old sig showed my handle origin, love of the Russian Reversal, and kitties.

My new one talks about how I was eager to showcase my sexual deviancy on the stygian threads but at the same time was all cute and huggable on other threads. Especially <3. The quote is from this very forum.

Hah, first Simpsons quote in the thread!

Yeah, it's Mr. Burns' reaction to seeing Homer's pink shirt on the security camera. It was also sampled on Chumbawamba's song "Moutfull of Shit", and I was listening to a lot when we made these new forums.

On the old forums I had a song quote from The Coup "Tell your teacher princesses are evil/how they got all they money is they kill people/If somebody hit you, hit 'em back/then negotiate a peace contract", some life advise from the lead singer to his daughter.

Now that I've fixed my profile (so that you can click on my name and get to my troper page), I have no more need for putting my troper page as a link in my signature.

Now to think up something interesting.

Any suggestions?

Mount Etna, the real-life volcano. Etna, the Disgaea character who I happen to crush on. "Mount", as in the sex-related verb definition. Do the math.

^Um, isn't that verb usually reserved for situations when at least one male is involved? Or is that why it'd have to be a bad Slash Fic?

Mine is, as implied, something I said at some point. I don't remember the context, but I thought it summed up my personality nicely.

I've had it for a long time, though... maybe I should change it.

My signatures are almost invariably song lyrics deprived of context. My current sig is a variation, in that it's from a Dylan Thomas poem, but I only found out about it because braveSaintSaturn sampled it in their cover of "Here is the News".
