"I'll stay with Simon then. No use in screwing up the plan now, eh, Bran?" Zero gave the magic user a playful punch on the shoulder.

"Is that right? You keep telling yourself that, I'm still telling you that your not ready and you'll get yourself killed. I can handle this." Braig said, still crossing his arms.

"Bran, just stop and think."

"Oh, I have thought. I know that the stakes when dealing with her are the highest I can imagine. But she needs to be stopped. That is the only thing that matters. If you think you can talk her down, then you're welcome to try."

"But you still don't see it..."

Braig shrugged and looked around.

"Look, if you really think you have an advantage just because you want to play the hero, then you need a wake-up call. But when she starts kicking your ass and you can't even keep up, then don't say I didn't warn you."

"You stop and think, Braig!" Maria retorted. "If they are hopeless because Medusa can manipulate them, then Dracula could easily do it."

"All Dracula would need is a curse or a mind control spell," Maria said. "His weakness is that he or one of his minions has to do it in person, but Medusa's visions could change that."

"For all we know, Dracula himself may be in on Medusa's plan and have already put a curse on all of us through her visions!"

"...Would it even work on a reploid?" asked Zero.

Great, they're arguing down there and I'm holding fort for those bozos shouting like they own the place.

Spriggan sighed, peering at the hallway through the EOTech sight on the AK-9.

"Who freakin' cares?" Scout practically yelled. "Let's just get on with it already!"

"I know she couldn't have," Cain said, off-handedly.

Jurgen headed over to Spriggan, checking the area as well. Something felt very wrong about all of this.

"Perhaps," said Pohatu, laying a hand on his chin, "some of us should go after Medusa, and some of us should go after Dracula."

"Maria, I really doubt Medusa told Dracula anything about her plan. Want to know why? She's smarter, I mean did it even occur to anyone that she's been spying on us? And she knows everything? She obviously knows more than she let on." Braig shrugged again.

"Whatever, I'm the one leading this group and I say you guys need to chill out."

"I'll take down Dracula! Anyway, he ripped off one of my armours!" Zero clenched a fist in determination.

"Which one would be worth more experience? I'll go with that guy." Red Mage chimed in.

"As much as I feel sorry for Crona, I feel like the one who controls this castle may be a bigger threat at this time... After all, if we take him out, he'll lose control, probably making your jobs easier."

"Yeah, well, whatever happens we're still gonna have two guys to fight, ain't we?" Scout asked.

"Whatever we're doing," reminded Pohatu, "we should probably get going on it. There's a time for thinking, and a time for action."

Django leaned in close to Otenko. "They all seem to be arguing," he whispered. "Perhaps we should just move along on our own," Otenko replied.

Django relented. There's no way I can fight Dracula on my own, not with just one battery, he thought.

Balling his fist, he spoke up. "I-I think that we should head on and fight Dracula! Granted, we need a plan, but the longer we stay here and fight, the more time Dracula has to regain his dark powers! We should worry about the Immortal before we worry about anything else. Besides, how bad can this..."Medusa" be? She can't be anywhere near as dangerous as the Lord of Darkness himself," he said.

Maria raised an eyebrow at the suggestion, a bit amazed.

Suddenly, dozens and dozens of Axe Armors surrounded the two groups and began throwing axes at them.

"Crap!" Maria began attacking the Axe Armors with the Cardinal.

Crona raised up an arm and stopped an Axe Armor's axe, a bit of black blood dripping out, but the blade going in no further then the skin. Crona silently called out Ragnarok in sword form and went on the attack.

With another rumbling of earth, several Axe Armors were swept aside by a small avalanche. One more was pummelled with sharp stones that exploded from the ground.

Jack found his way back to the drawbridge. He had been about to start flipping out, but the drawbridge had suddenly lowered. Huh, I wonder what... He caught sight of Hito-Shura and ducked behind a wall. What the hell does he want here?

Cain jumped in surprise. "How did they possibly sneak up on us?"

He pulled his chainsword free, but before he could activate it one of the axes came hurling at him. He brought the heavy blade up, wincing as his body jarred from the impact.

Jurgen turned. "What the..." He began to fire with his lasgun, noting to his disappointment that the lasers did nothing more than melt the metal, which didn't seem to help much...

Red Mage began to attack the soldiers. Before he attacked the sound of die could be heard.

Scout kept beating one of the Axe Armours with his baseball bat. "Haha, you ain't so cool now, pally! 'Oooh I got a stupid axe and some armour, I'm so scary!' The scary thing's how pathetic you are!"

"!"

Django jumped in his boots. "Axe Armors are attacking?! I told you we should have hurried on to Dracula!"

Django drew his Solar Gun, and faced an Armor. I've got my Knight frame equipped, but I should save my Battery for Dracula, he thought. Maybe...if I used my Gladius frame, and switched to the Luna lens, I can knock the axes out of their hands!

Django leapt behind a pillar, and drew a tiny screwdriver and his Gladius frame from his jacket. "Give me cover and thirty seconds!" he shouted.
