Nostalgia bomb in 3...2...1...
This show was awesome. A diamond in the rough.
Of course, I haven't seen a single episode in years.
IJBM lives on here! Sign up!It was lots of fun, even if the plot made zero sense. The first season was, anyway.
Oh I remember this show. I still think I have a few medabot toys lieing around my room somewhere!
My only complain was the second season, which pretty much made half the cast desappear, repainted medabots were disguised as new ones, and nothing that happened on the previous season seemed to have aknowledged...
Too lazy to have a decent sig.Holy fuck, I loved this show. Watched it every fucking Saturday.
It helps that, for a 90's anime, its dub was holy shit awesome.
MUST FIND DVD BOXSET

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Dude... I Rock!
I remember this show! I got hooked shortly before Fox Kids died.
Ecstasy is Sustained IntensityI've tried re-watching it because I remember it being good, but I can no longer stand watching it. I have been spoiled by shows with good plots and great Myth Arcs. I have similar reactions to most of the older shows and a number of more resent ones.

Yu hav nat sein bod speeling unntil know. (cacke four undersandig tis)the cake is a lie!Wow, nostalgia. I remember having some fun watching the Dutch dub of this series, and having played two of it's games on the GBA. I didn't really follow it, though, as having no internet, only one television in the house, and a judgemental older sister around do not exactly make for a good anime-watching environment.
Maybe I should revisit this series.
That's too bad Kay, my situation was the opposite: this is one of the few shows (the others being Rugrats and Code Lyoko) that me and my younger sister and brother ever loved equally. I remeber my best friend at the time raving to me about it and how awesome Rokusho was, so I decided to check it out and got hooked. And yeah, the dub is fantastic, especially considering this was a 90s dub of a kid's show. Thank goodness 4Kids didn't get their mitts on this one (think it was Nelvana, but I can't remember). Phantom Renegade is still my favorite character from this show (the scene where Space Medafighter X is revealed to be him in disguise is absolutely priceless.
On a related note, here's Antfish's great Medabots parody.
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot! There is only one DVD set of Medabots, sadly. Shout! Factory stopped because it didn't sell good.
Heidegger, Heidegger was a boozy beggar who could drink you under the table~If I remember correctly, all the episodes are available on Amazon Unbox.
I'll turn your neocortex into a flowerpot!Metabots had two games on the GBA? I only played one.
Metabot is the kind of franchise that have the potential to make great games, if its premise wasn't parody, maybe more people would have take it seriously, both gamers and game developers.
^There was the RPG-like game, and Medabots AX, which was more like Super Smash Brothers.
The RPG was pretty fun. AX was a failure.
@rbx: Yep, it was Nelvana.
It was quite the understated shonen. Though it followed the "latest kid craze" formula, it did it quite well, and the art style stood out.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.So randomly bumping this up, because someone is doing an english sub of the original Japanese version (they started at the beginning of the month, and are currently on episode 4).
If nothing else, I'm grateful for now knowing the lyrics to the Japanese theme, which I thought was pretty cool, though the dub theme is quite nice itself.
One Strip! One Strip!Huh, didn't think we had a topic on this show.
I had to dig myself. It's an old one, and as you can see, doesn't have much traffic being that's it's only one page.
We can change that thought.
C'mon! Get your friends!

One Strip! One Strip!Reviving this.
Just rewatching the series. It's amazing how much nostalgia I feel for this show despite watching it for the first time over four and a half years ago—one heck of a hiatus. It reminded me why Metabee was my favorite.
Too tired for this.Truthfully, I'm surprised how close the dub was to the original version.
Not much has really been cut, and the dialogue isn't much different from what I can tell.
Still like some of the english themes better which is rare for a dub, but still.
I am really looking forward to the rest of the World Tournament Arc. These next few eps are where things really pick up.
One Strip! One Strip!MEDABOOOOOTS!
GIVE ME YOUR FACEAttack mode Metabee!
One Strip! One Strip!
One of the goofiest Shōnen anime around, Medabots had as much wacky hijinks as it did robot battles. And before Yu Gi Oh The Abridged Series and Final Fantasy V Advance, this was getting the humorous localization treatment, almost like Duel Masters, except actually funny. Who could ever forget characters like Mr. Referee, who apparently lives in Hammerspace to show up at every Robattle, or the hilarious Gentleman Thief parody that was the Phantom Renegade? And of course, one episode was even dedicated to Medabots getting banned from school! It doesn't get much more relevant to kids than that.
