Could use a better picture of the same thing:: Shovel Strike

Soldier is a GREAT subject for this picture. However, in the current image, the shovel itself is kind of hard to make out. Anyone have a similar image of Soldier shoveling someone?

The Cheese-Eating Surrender Monkeys caption could be done with too, if you wanna have my biased opinion.

Perhaps the picture could simply be changed to a shovel with a caption like of "The weapon of choice" or something similar?

Uh, I hate to say this, but I still couldn't make out the shovel very well. It looked more like a small hatchet to me. :P

That pic of the Shoveler is what I put in this trope first ... then it got replaced by the TF 2 one.

There's that one episode of Sponge Bob Square Pants that shows a health inspector getting bashed over the head with a shovel many times in the episode. We just need a screencap of it in action, because it is very clear.

I remember the health inspector choking on a fly, getting hit over the head with an anchor and a barrel, and having a door slam on his face... I remember him being buried with a shovel, but I don't remember the health inspector getting hit with one.

Didn't the police officer smack him with the shovel near the end of the episode?

^Nah, that was both with an anchor and a barrel.

Oh.. It has been a long time since I saw it. Ok nevermind. I know there are examples of people getting bashed with a shovel that I see every now and then, but nothing else comes to mind right now.

I know for certain that a shovel has been a signature weapon in all the Evil Dead movies. Although, if I remember correctly, it's used mostly as a decapitation tool.

I do recall reading something from the Zombie Survival Guide about the Shaolin Spade being good for decapitation, so it works.

I may have a potential picture for this trope, if you don't mind a black & white one.

It's a mess and it's not even clearly a shovel until you stare at it for a few minutes. It's hard to tell the weapon from the motion lines, and even then it's not clearly a shovel and not a spear or something.

Come on, this can't possibly be a spear. The motion and the way he would have hit wouldn't be the same (read: it would have been a stab, not a strike). And the other end of the weapon (aka the handle) wouldn't be that shape in the case of a spear.

Okay, looks like I need to scan the pic and cut out the bubble part after all, to see how much the quality improves. Will do this tomorrow.

It's not only being used in an ongoing fight, it's covered in blood. Both good traits for a weapon.
