[up] I loved the last part.

Anyway, a little line from a random thing..

"You'd think that by now they'd have made the animatronics for kid's pizza places less creepy, but no, the future only made them worse."

@Jinx - That quote made me spit out my drink. [lol]

Not quite favorite, but just a decent Pre Ass Kicking One Liner:

"So, you say that loser is the evil, huh? Well then, the evil you shall be!"

[up][up] No, I am not ready. I can feel Freddy's soulless eyes staring into my very being from the desktop icon for the game.

Anyway, another line

"Battle Moths! Assemble!

Context: This is being shouted by a Viking like war chief, who leads a group of giant moth riding warriors.

"So, you say that loser is the evil, huh? Well then, the evil you shall be!"

That language's kind of stilted, and it's basically a childish 'no u' retort anyway. Unless the speaker isn't familiar with the language he's speaking, I wouldn't recommend it. Possible alternatives:

"So might makes right, yeah? Suits me, asshole."

"Nah, dude, you're pretty evil either way. But if you insist..."

"You're being anime. Please stop being anime."

[up][up]

"So might makes right, yeah? Suits me, asshole."

Haha, awesome! Not only this line feels more nuanced, it's much more pithy and totally in character for her, thanks! grin

Not sure if I can use the word "ass-hole" in a YA novel, though.

The point of the joke is that the metaphor trails off and doesn't make sense anymore. I wasn't trying to be offensive or make any serious statements.

"My main focus in life is just to have a little peace and quiet in a small house in the woods."

"You spent seven years of your life blowing stuff up, getting drunk and kicking ass."

"Well people can change! It's not like there aren't people who take the time to reflect on their current situation and decide, 'This isn't what I want to do anymore, I should do something different!' The problem is that not everyone has the resources to change things for themselves!

A talk between two characters, that also provided some personal reflection for myself, so it is one of my favorites.

"You want to know what Kushrenada got wrong? He reinforced the Earth vs. Space divide, sure. But what he really did wrong? He didn't kill nearly enough of us. If he wanted a generation at peace, he should have killed more of us. There should have been hundreds of thousands of people who look like me, cold hard eyes and attachment issues. Instead there are only hundreds. We're not a voting block that would stop any government from going to war again.
