Anyone mind if i put a dibs in for the Binicle, Pancham and Tailow Lines?
Beware the shadows. You never know what might be waiting to strike.Might want to stick to two to give more people a chance to participate.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite. No worries, I'll stick to Binicle and Pancham then. if no one minds.
Beware the shadows. You never know what might be waiting to strike.Putting this idea out there: A lot of the old Ghost Type Pokemon articles have the pokemon made out of "unknown substances" or "Unexplained phenomena" while the Ghost type article itself introduced the concept of Umbrate. It might behoove us to run through the articles and update them.
Did you ever consider fiction might be fact?Or behoove the person who came up with that Ghost article to not invalidate the work everyone else already did.
Firstly, the article doesn't invalidate the previous articles; science marches on after all, and the articles don't have any thing else that contridicts the ghost-type article. Secondly, your proposal would by implication force all the article writers that came after the Ghost Type article to alter their own articles, which do use the Umbrate model, therefore invalidating their work.
Did you ever consider fiction might be fact?Calling Dibs on the Sunkern Line.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.Suggestion regarding Fairy type(and some connected types, I guess):
The two entries regarding Steel type's strength against Fairy just leave them "unexplained", which is kind of odd considering the cool lore which inspired the weakness.
For those who don't know, in a lot of old lore regarding the fae(the origin of fairies, elves, and a lot of other magical creatures), they are harmed by Cold Iron, which often is extended to regular iron, or any metal even containing iron, such as...steel.
So in a type so connected to this lore, it's rather negligent to ignore the possibilities that could be addressed. You could add in points about Fairy types being unable to safely hold certain types of metals, and that the "unnaturalness" of the metal that Steel types grow blocks the emotional energies of the Fairy. Similar changes would be made to the Steel entry.
Second, while Fairy's strength against Dragon is mostly just a nerf, it deserves more attention than just "hope". Again, we can turn to the old folklore, where fairies made great warriors and spellcasters. The perfect example being Link(fairy boy...), who slays dragons ALL the time. They are ancient counterparts to the powerful dragons, and their "magic" is keyed to slay them and defend against them. Take a hint from the Mawile entry and some others about "dragonslayer" mythology.
Dark is also a lot better explained than Dark just being considered "jerks". Make it the "special" counterpart to Poison. Poison is inherently "mean", but so is Dark, so why the opposite reaction? Easy: poison is rooted in the material, and so not so easily defended against for the "mystical" fairies. Dark, though, is also rooted in the mystical, specifically being all about using FEAR as a weapon. Fairies are inherently anti-fear and all about good feelings, so the entry should reflect that.
Finally: Bug. Really? "Cute"? Bug is just more rooted in "natural", and have really simple minds. They are easily affected by Fairy emotions and have no real defenses against such a psychic assault.
There are explanations that Fairy is something along of nature combined with 'innocence', or at least faking it.
That would boil to that Fighting-types more or less fight fairly and would probably not to hurt something that poses as innocent... citizen. Or something along the lines.
Poison and Steel would be then reference to man-made things and pollution, which would 'corrupt' nature.
(Though that means they should reclassify Fake Tears...)
There are some examples here

"Screw it, I AM going to enjoy this game!"I would like to call dibs on Evolution (and possibly Mega Evolution). I mean, it seems that would be something extremely important to do, but it isn't in yet.
I think that's something we ought to avoid until we actually complete a couple gens of articles.
Eating a Vanilluxe will give you frostbite.True, that. In that case, I'd like to call the Honedge line. Hopefully I can do evolution at a later date.
In the vein of discussing Evolution and Mega Evos, I think there are several things to consider, but I don't think i really needs to wait on any specific mile marker.
1. Not all Evolutions are created equal. We have pokemon who never evolve and just grow conventionally, pokemon who's evolutions are combinations of pokemon, are completely unconnected to previous versions, are reliant on environmental factors, could just be the result of aging, evolution stones, etc. I think much like a lot of other things here, we have to consider that this may be something we have to heavily headcanon in to make sense of it. Either somehow link disparate ideas closely to make Evolution a singular concept, or expand it as an umbrella concept.
2. Mega Evolution already has a explanation(ancient biology being "reawakened") that just needs expansion. In my opinion this is a very different job than tackling standard Evolution. It's a solid concept already that just needs some unfolding and repackaging. Maybe some exploration on "primal" vs "mega", and what exactly the mega stones are and why they work.
Outside of the Primals and Aerodactyl where'd you get that from? Seriously, I never saw that anywhere.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Okay then. I guess I can work on Evolution as well as Honedge. I'll call both of them, if nobody minds.

If it's alright with you guys, I've decided to work on Yveltal as my first contribution to this project.
I'm barely involved with this, especially since I need to finish that Qwilfish article, but
Hat Kirby: I don't think you should call dibs on Evolution until the Project's ready to make an article on it.
Ultradester306: Since Z/X2/Y2/whatever will probably have more info about the Kalos Legendaries, articles on them shouldn't be written until those come out.

"life is just a series of increasingly canon-eluding ao3 tags" ~ everydunsparce "Keep your hellfruit away from me, tempter" ~ also EverySo confusing.
I've found this line in the article for the Litwick line:
"Examinations of Litwick's DNA has also shown a dormant gene that could theoretically allow them to exert some form of hypnosis over their prey as they drain its life force, preventing the victim from running away, but this has never been observed in nature."
Shouldn't it be changed to say something like hypnosis lowering their opponent's guard, allowing to bypass some of its defenses?
If anyone can think of a reasonable explanation for how Mold Breaker works feel free to pm me or post it here. Can't think of anything myself and the articles for other P Okemon with it either don't mention it, gloss over it or the explanation doesn't make sense to me so i thought i'd see what everyone here thinks. Cheers.
Beware the shadows. You never know what might be waiting to strike. The website accidentally unsubbed this from my watchlist. Anything happen?
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!@Shadow: http://www.serebii.net/abilitydex/moldbreaker.shtml
I think, from the article, it basically means that a move can't be blocked by an ability the other pokemon has.
Example: If the other pokemon has soundproof, it should block all sound based attacks, like Uproar. If you have Mold Breaker, then it negates Soundproof, and allows you to hit the other pokemon with a sound move, regardless.
A better example is Ground moves VS Levitate. If you are facing a pokemon with levitate, then you can (in theory) hit the pokemon with ground type moves, if you have Mold Breaker.
The confusion exists after Gen V, when other abilities and attacks seem to contradict Mold B. They really don't, but you have to pay attention to each specific one.
I am the once and future king. So, wait. I'm doing the Honedge line, right? Am I supposed to get confirmation or something? Sorry, but I'm new to this.
I think all you have to do is to claim dibs, only restriction is if someone already claimed it first.
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!
I liked that a lot, Sullen. Incorporates the lore of various bits of Pokecanon on Groudon into one cohesive whole.
(And your origin of the Red and Blue orbs and your description of their effects is eerily similar to an old deadfic of mine.)
