What interesting things have you only recently learned about?
To be clear, this is about things which have been true for some time and you only recently learned about, not things that only happened recently. In particular, recent deaths of celebrities and other high-profile individuals should go in the General RIP Thread.
So, what interesting things have you guys...and gals...only recently learned about?

"People always say that you should follow your dreams... so I'm going back to bed" -meTook me a while to notice that Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" was used in the Top Gear: Vietnam Special, even though I've seen it several times.

"Did you expect somebody else?"On the subject of Pokémon movies, I remember not liking the first one, and my mom saying that 2000 was so bad that she couldn't even sleep through it.
Law enforcements exterminate 6 million marijuana plants a year.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. There's a joke in there somewhere.
I probably shouldn't make it, though.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThis is more like "things you didn't realize until now" but, in the Spanish soccer league, last time Real Madrid defeated Atlético was two and a half years ago. And today they only ensured the bad streak would continue for the near future.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Go ahead. We're all going to hell anyway.
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Pokemon 2000 got a 15% on Rotten Tomatoes

Is that the one with Lugia or the one with Mewtwo?
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseLugia. Mewtwo was in the first movie. I thought the first one was alright, but I loved the hell out of 2000.
I guess it's just another thing that falls in line with the rest of my shitty tastes

I saw that recently.
I mean, it wasn't amazing, but it definitely doesn't deserve a 15%, either.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThe Power of One was my fave Pokémon movie. I don't care if critics don't like it. Plus I prefer the full reviews with the actual critique over an averaged score sans context.
One thing I can say about it, is that it has amazing music.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseMeanwhile, my least favorite movie of all time, 21 Grams, got 80% aggregate. I don't even...
Oh, and Pokémon 3 got 22%.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300If it's any consolation, my second least favorite movie got a 99%
Free Willy got a 57%
However I'm actually more willing to forgive that...
Nintendork: Dude, your tastes are like literally backwards, compared to the rest of the world.
Huh, my least favourite movie has 21%.
The one I dislike the most has apprently 43%, namely The Brown Bunny.
I've seen the original Cannes cut, and it bored me shitless. I'd have gotten more out of watching terrible gamers play Persona 2, that could at least provide some sympathetic comedy.
The later cut wasn't anywhere near as bad, but there you go.
