I think it is worth noting that Sven makes his living with stereotypes and cliches, if his country music writing career is any indication.
So it seems rather logical to me that he would be thinking in cliches in this case, especially since he has never had to work at a relationship (or even for temporary companionship) in his life.
I don't think Sven is bad; he's just in an area that is totally new to him.
Am I full of derp today? Flip a coin!Steve must be on a weird schedule if the chronology here is what it looks like. Eat cereal -> Change shirt -> Go to bar
Text I feel is necessary to append to every post.Oh man. Steve's Foot x Sven's Balls OTP.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]That's an interesting idea. He's had nothing but shallow relationships, and he makes a living by promoting unrealistic, trite romantic tropes. He probably has the relationship maturity of an anglerfish.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Huh. And apparently, we got today's comic yesterday? Because it isn't there anymore and the current one up is obviously a setup for what we saw yesterday (either that or Jeph is getting all Memento on us?).
Yeah, he said in his twitter that he put up the wrong one first.
Naturally I had to be working and missed it. Now I have to wait one whole day!
I think Sven is trying to be a good guy but is basically clueless on how to go about it.
Trump delenda estWell, at least today's real one is still funny.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987And now the proper one for tomorrow is up.
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987Ack, the number of the strip no longer matches the number in the URL!
The child is father to the man —OedipusLink Wrong Genre Savvy rears it's ugly head. Twice!
Trump delenda estSo he DOES operate on cliche's.
If he knows he doesn't deal well with things that don't come easy to him than why didn't he ask someone's advice before he went to tell Faye?
He thought he had it figured out.
"I am good guy. Good guys are honest. Therefore keeping my feelings secret would be a bad thing to do. I will tell her, and thus score points because people are like video games, obviously."
This makes Sven into possibly the most straightforwardly bad person in what had heretofore been a largely White And Gray comic in quite a few years of real time, unless you count the people Steve fought.
The child is father to the man —OedipusEh, he seemed to get along pretty well with Tortura.
What's precedent ever done for us?The supervillain may have been a perfectly personable man who just decided to go take over the world
Gotta say, Sven's a bit warped. I can't believe that just because she rejected him he's associating the third party as being a jerk.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Sadly, a lot of idiots think that way IRL.
Man, I keep forgetting that.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]What the hell Sven?
I think we'd all like to know.
[forum cryptid: it/it's]Sven is something akin to a still emotionally a moody teenager when it comes to romantic relationships.
Unless they're wearing a Villain Card for some reason, crappy people generally don't think or realize that they're crappy.
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...
