We finally find out why the comic's universe is so different from ours: it's a simulation put on for Hanners. Even the 515 comics that were before her introduction.

Hanners heally has come a long way. She's barely a facet of her old personality now; she snarks!
The only real resemblance I can see between her old and new personalities is OHMYGOD SO ADORABLE

Are you sure she's snarking?
She's still triggered by things with which she's unfamiliar (see the hose shenanigans of the past two comics), but as more things become familiar to her, and the reactions to triggers become less um... let's say "violent" (again, hose. Not severe mental breakdown that turns into random cleaning spree), she starts coming off as more "normal."
