In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

I hope it's that easy. Anyway, the damn thing can't arrive soon enough. I'm tired of seeing my phone's battery drop 1% every 1.5-2 minutes I'm using it for anything, while the thing also heats up and becomes quite warm.
Is it a model you can't just pull the battery out of and put a replacement in?
Fresh-eyed movie blogIf it's the second generation Moto X, nope. I have that model as well.
Though if it's the first gen I have no clue

I hate that trend. I know making nonstandard battery formats gets them better performance for the design they want, but I don't see what making them fixed inside does. Having a removeable battery means:
- the user can buy a new battery if the original goes bad
- the user can swap a low battery for a fresh one
- the user can pull the plug if the phone becomes unresponsive
- most importantly, the user can buy a new battery for any reason, generating more money for the OEM
Not sure if this is the place to post this but I'm gonna be staying in Malaysia for six months. My primary goal is to learn Arabic before I move to Australia. It's all right here with my family but I have limited access to Internet, which means I won't be as active on the wiki and the forum. Also, no Tumblr or Youtube for me. I'll survive, hopefully.

The Artifact. Is currently Lazy Hazy. The right place is Absent People, but take care.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I have the second gen Moto X. So, what the hell do I do to remove the SIM card? I'm about to get my replacement fairly soon - maybe even today for all I know.
The SIM tray is on the top, with a little pinhole button to release it.
Getting rudely awoken by my mother's dogs always gets me very angry...I'm still tired, the light hurts my eyes, and I can't punch any of them.
And today is my first day running that library greeter station. -_- I better be cooled down by then...
Wow. I use my phone for like 2 minutes today, and it's already warm in my pocket.
And it has been unplugged, UNUSED, for like 4 hours, and its battery is already down to 88%.
What a piece of shit. I am very looking forward to replacing it.
Thanks Dem...
@Forest And maybe there's something else running in the background?
Chris / Ghost Elm just had some major problems, and currently won't be able to post much until further notice. Also, it's possible that his account will be hijacked, so if you guys notice any posts that are off, please don't report his account for a suspension or ban ( I think. I'll go read the rules on hijacked accounts again).
He's going through a really tough time. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Just grocery shopped for myself for the first time.
Only about $25 worth, but Mom doesn't know what to buy me anymore that I'll eat.
Just another step toward beautiful independent poverty freedom. ;p
Suddenly Facebook is looking really political, and I'm learning things I'd rather not know about people I barely talk to anyway.
I blame the coming election. And the distance between "friends" provided by the Internet.
I lost or silenced a lot of friends in the last couple of elections. Most of the political posts that make it onto my feed are about Bernie Sanders now.
Well, and laughing at Donald Trump.

Fresh-eyed movie blogNothing's running in the background on my phone. I factory reset it. Battery still plummets rapidly when in use for anything at all. It's shit.
The replacement hasn't come in the mail yet. I ordered it on Monday.
I know people on Facebook that are like that all the time. I haven't blocked them or unfollowed them because they're either colleagues, or because they're reasonable when politics doesn't come into the conversation.
online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comMy dad said that a very right-wing cousin of his actually said "Did you just call Fox News 'news'? Isn't it more like opinion?" Hey, at least he gets it.
The strange thing is, FOX in my country is known to be highly left-wing.
It's a business. News Corp saw an opening in the market to delve into insane degrees of pandering to the Right.
This is the same company that airs (on a different channel) the kind of irreverent or trashy entertainment that the Fox News audience would object to. The Simpsons even did an episode alleging that Fox makes offensive shows specifically to create outrage for their news programs to get upset about.
Fresh-eyed movie blogFox is strange like that. Fox Broadcasting was known for being subversive and vaguely left-libertarian back in the 1990s (and has been trying to retain whatever bits of that glory still remain for the past 15 years or so), but Fox News is staunchly right-wing...many of the people that watch Fox News would have never watched things like Married... with Children or In Living Color! back when they were popular.

I heard that the owner of News Corp., the company that owns Fox News, told Fox News' president to stop reporting on Donald Trump. But Fox News' president said nope, he makes for good television and brings in viewers!
I figured that Fox News being trashy opinion and Fox running lots of trashy trash were really not that different from each other.

Not Fox News, just FOX.
I just got off the phone with Amazon; they couldn't get ahold of Yodel (apparently their offices are already closed), but they're sending a replacement that should arrive by Wednesday.
