In which we get updates from the lives of tropers. Kinda like Twitter with more than 140 characters, but less than a blog or LJ.
Please refrain from excess venting in this thread. Talking about negative emotions is fine but it's best not to dwell on them for too long. TV Tropes is not suited to deal with mental health situations.

I haven't watched it, and honestly I'm wary. A few weeks ago I had a very fierce discussion in another website about sexism and the taste was so sour that the last thing I want even now is to see a movie that might promote a hateful message. I'm just not in the mood for that, since the aforementioned incident led eventually to me having to block a longtime contact I used to chat with in Skype.
Next to that, it's the fact that I can't travel to a cinema without a car, and ours is under maintenance (it's been like that since long ago). My father went via public bus in search of a new engine for the car and it turns out the dimensions don't match. The travel was in vain and now there's the ongoing issue of driver strikes.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300>hateful message
According to my favourite blog, it was the least sexist action movie the blogger had ever seen. They apparently purposefully averted fanservice shots in a way that treated women as characters rather than objects. This is like the opposite of a hateful message.
Mad Max is honestly feminist in how it goes about it - the main character is a foil to everybody else, and others do things and he reacts.
It's honestly a great deal less sexist than you may think.
"Did you expect somebody else?"Not among friends worth keeping, they aren't.

'All he needs is for somebody to throw handgrenades at him for the rest of his life...'...I was talking about hateful towards men because of the feminism (nowadays, you can't defend something without directly attacking the offender). And after reading the posts (which apparently missed my point), I think it's just not worth watching it for me.
So, anyway, I discovered that what I have in my left tonsil is not an irritation caused by a flu. It's a wound. I had felt something rough there since four days ago and I thought I was going to get flu due to the dust of the floor (I have had to sleep there because there are no beds in the room where I'm sleeping, and in my room the air conditioner has been out of use since eight months ago. I have no idea what happened, and I might want to rinse my mouth with some extra-strong Listerine to prevent any potential infection.
How did I come to this realization, you ask? Because I got so bothered with it that I touched it with my right index finger. You know how sometimes a part of your mouth inflamed after an infection or wound, turning into a round blister? Yeah, that's exactly what I spotted.
After seeing what my sister had to go through when she was operated from her tonsilitis, back in 2001 .... I strived to keep my mouth healthy to prevent the same fate. And no, eating ice cream for 15 days is not enough compensation for me, especially because neither the operations nor the ice cream are exactly cheap in my country. Unfortunately, even the best prepared ones might be surprised by uncontrolled variables, and I fear I might be the next one in line.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300It's not like that at all - the main foes aren't really made into objects of fun as much as they are just regarded as a bunch of silly buggers. It's no different from having your foes be clowns that you can appreciate for being silly.
"Did you expect somebody else?"People be gettin' mad at me today just because I'm aloof. But that's always been true.
I don't really feel that I need to grant my presence anywhere. You invite me to a party, I may come, or I may not. That's my prerogative.
Listen to this man. He knows what he's talking about.
Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)x4: It's perfectly possible for a movie to be pro-women without being anti-man, surely? You don't need to slag off half the population to not slag off the other half, after all.
From what I understand, it wasn't even intended to be a "feminist" movie. They just wrote the female characters respectfully and voila.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerRRR and B8: Glad to know. I know I shouldn't get too paranoid about it. I just felt too affected by that fiery discussion in which I was involved elsewhere. I'll see if I can give it a try next time I go to the cinema. I'll probably have to go via bus, though. The car's not gonna get fully repaired anytime soon.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I wonder if there's a graceful way to break up a friendship...not a romance, just a friendship. When two people seem to have just drifted so far apart that any effort to stay friends turns out disastrous.
Well, I may find out soon what it's like to try...
My Final Edits: Honestly, the foes in it are more pitiable than anything - but they're also so utterly Crazy Awesome and perfect in what they do.
"Did you expect somebody else?"Thanks. I guess I can expect a good movie like any other.
Also, my left tonsil alleviated greatly after I chewed a pair of mint gums and drank some very cold water. Yes, it can freeze your mouth but, damn, it really does wonders to the affected parts. It was my brother who suggested me this remedy. I owe him one.
135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Just saw Minions very cute. Fortunately, Scarlet Overkill DOESN'T die, and she still gets a little crown even though she tried to kill Stewart and Bob.
Just some nice kiddish fun.
@Keybreak: Why can't you just stop making an effort? I have Facebook friends, e.g. people I knew in high school, that I haven't spoken to directly in years, but I never had to officially declare the friendship over.
Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)Because he's so...troublesome. He still wants to hang with me, but I don't want to hang with him, and he gets mad when I don't indulge him, and yet I don't want him to hate me, since we've been friends since high school.
But, I guess I'm submitting to my bad friendness. He's just getting too hard to please now...
Oh my god, things are awesome. Met and got a pic with Liv Jagrell of Sister Sin!
8am, my first class for the semester has started, and I've already been to hospital this morning. I had to drop my mum off for day surgery on the way to uni thing morning.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Crap... That was probably the most embarrassing typo I've ever done.
I found out about this and I am deeply upset. Him and the others at Nintendo are the reason why I love Nintendo so much. It just won't be the same without him.

"Thanks for the lesson. But I don't need you to tell me who I am."
So I just saw the Mad Max: Fury Road and my god... it was awesome. I feel a better person for having seen it.
Fuck all those mens' right assholes who decried it. Clearly they hate awesome films.
