Many people know Daniel Remar for the games Iji
, Hyper Princess Pitch
and Hero Core
, but I found a much older game by him which is a puzzle game: No Friction
It's a fairly simple game with a familiar mechanic - a ball that can only move in one of the four cardinal directions, that only stops once it hits something solid. Combine that with the need to pick up objects to open a door (from Chip's Challenge
), spikes, crumbling walls
, and all of a sudden the game becomes no laughing matter.
Level set 1 is essentially a tutorial, set 2 steps up the difficulty already, set 3 is pretty tough and I'm currently stuck trying to beat the first level of set 4.
If you're using a Mac, the game runs perfectly fine under Wine.
