Anyway thanks for explaining Gustav. I know in Spanish(which a lot of KOF fans speak) v and b sound very similar so it's probably why you get stuff like Gustab. Kind of like Japan's R/L.

And now you mention this Psyqhical and wtf is nonsense? Why does every KOF Mugen boss have a variation of genocide cutter /andor a fullscreen attack? Lol I'll admit, I have a Bile Fascination for these kinds of creations.

Indeed, but I know names and such. I know "Gustav" is a real name and "Gustab" is just Engrish hoohaa. Anthy/Anshii anyone?

Because MUGEN authors, when they actually try to be creative, tend to kinda fail and every KOF boss has to be connected to Rugal in some way or another or Orochi or made by NESTS or fuck I hate KOF MUGEN OCs sometime.

The problem is I've seen Silver's name being put as Silber in loads of places. The same with Jyazu as Jazu. What the heck is it supposed to be then? It's already been said that Silber is German for Silver anyway (and I personally like it more) but I digress.

Nobody really knows. Even SNK themselves sometimes uses different romanizations to refer to the same character.

I just got into the series through SNK vs Capcom 2 and I love King.

King is queen as they say. Yeah she was one of the first KOF characters I got to know though due to her name and looks I thought she was a bishie prince lol.

The bishie prince thing is kind of the point of her character's choice of looks, actually. She started off in Art Of Fighting as a crossdressing bouncer for a Southtown bar, and her backstory had her compete in a Muay Thai tournament in Thailand while crossdressing to get past the misogynist barrier, only to be accidentally outed in the final match and subsequently humiliated by the resulting outrage and disqualification.

So who's guessing that King of Dinosaur is Tizoc with a dino mask instead of a griffon?

Probably right. Voice sounds about the same and he has what seems to be an updated version of his moveset.

Dunno about that one in particular, but I'm liking most of these re-designs.

They also seem to be working to improve the animation.

I would be surprised if IT ISN'T Tizoc.

• Voice is the same, if not very similar.
• Some same moves.
• Mexico Stage.

Most of all the article on PS blog says:

An evil and mysterious “heel” (a.k.a. a “rudo” in lucha libre) wrestler who wears a tyrannosaurus mask appears! Is he about to devour all the veteran fighters? Human or beast? Who hides behind the mask?!

Most definitely a case of Tizoc going Heel, same deal as Mr. Bear and Raiden.

On the one hand, dinosaurs are awesome, so that automatically makes Not!Tizoc awesome. On the other hand, going from a griffon motif to a freaking dinosaur is... awkward, to say the least. I think it'll just take me a bit to get used to, since it's still really Tizoc, but that just wasn't something I was really expecting.

Oh, and Terry seems to be wearing his garou jacket again, just dyed red. The whole design seems to be a cross between his classic design and his Garou one. The jacket is from Garou but with the classic color scheme, and while he has Terry's signature ponytail, the front of his hair is cut like in Garou. And of course he's got the hat.

Terry actually had a red jacket with uncut sleeves in the very first Fatal Fury so my gues is they're bringing that back.

Yeah, I know, but the design just looks more like the Garou jacket to me.

Hm... In the business stand point, it might be true that Tizoc staying eternal babyface might be bad for business, but I think he's going to disappoint those kids if they see him like this...

But... if he's a Heel, why is he still naming his technique 'Justice Hurricane'? That name sounds too Face-ish and clashes badly with his new Heel image, IMO.

It's not his Garou Jacket, it's his original Jacket from the first Fatal Fury game, his Garou jacket was a bomber jacket styled after the famous WW 2 jackets, with fur accents around the collar. This one has no fur accents, also the sleeves are shorter and the Jacket itself is thinner and tighter. It seems like stretch to assume a Jacket was dyed for whatever reason.

Okay some more leaked notes:

• Mature loses her eye patch. Notice her Bang covers the eye though...
• Vice and Mature are still wearing suits, but they show off shoulders and emphasize the breasts.
• The hooded man in the Officials team is related to KOF 13's ending...
• The opera mask person is a girl that changes her moves by switching between various masks. Sounds pretty cool.
• The Big Bad can pull a Funny Valentine and jack people from other dimensions/timelines and place them in the current one. This is a clever way to incorporate "dream match" roster additions without having a dream match game and explains the "Another World" team's presence.
• The 3rd Southtown guy may or may not be Geese's butler, just a new dude who has little detail on him so far.
• S. American team is a chick, R.Kelly "Ninja", and a cyborg boxer
• The "Boss" smoking the cigar is a shirtless Russian dude.
• the bluebeard is the leader of the Villains team.
• team China are the hero team this time around.
• One of the Another gals uses a gun and sword.

This game keeps sounding better and better...

There is some parts of that image that seem off to me. For example the third member of the women's team looks off, like it's an image from another source. Also, first member of the invitational team looks like another artwork entirely.

Why is there what seems to be lizardman in the mexican team? That's Tizoc's new mask? And I'm getting deja vu from that art, like I've seen it before... I swear!

Man, I was better at Chinese. Rough guess:

We have so many characters!
Our roster is the biggest ever [in a King of Fighters game] at 50. In here, we have 18 new characters (marked in red).
With this roster size, you can make up to 19600 different team combinations.

I'm not sure about the last line. It seems to be a line about inclusion of various nationalities.

Note that by saying 19600 team combinations they are implying the Boss and Final Boss are playable. 50!/(47!*3!) = 19600.

Lizard man has been revealed, it's the 'King of Dinosaurs'. AKA Tizoc with a Heel stint a la Raiden-Big Bear.

Hm... remind me again, who else are with Tung? New characters?

They'd have to be since they've got a red outline.

If we all know dinosaur king is Tizoc, then they refrained from artificially increasing their "new characters" count to 19 even if Tizoc has a red outline.

Well, if it's true that Nakoruru would be in this, I hope that she plays more like other KOF characters, maybe similar to her Capcom Vs SNK incarnation. Trying to stay close to her root game in NGBC hurts her bad in tier listing. Hopefully she can do a pretty good set of combos.

Also, if that is the final roster, I think I know what my main team will be.

i hate fighting her AI in CVS 2. OMG she is mad annoying in that game and shuts me down everytime. But I love her otherwise, and she's actually my first exposure to the Ainu, despite being a pretty J-washed example lol.

And yeah the artworks do look off for some of them, I noticed that too. The Another team is excusable since they're from different games but the Officials Team leader girl seems particularly off and noticeably lacks any description about her so far..

The new China hero is a demon boy tung took in and controlled his demon powers blah blah TBH he seemed rather cliche'd and uninteresting from the little info revealed about him but we'll see. The sleepy kid fights with "sleep boxing" which I can imagine is about as stupid as it sounds. One of his specials involve sleeping or something...idk they sounded pretty freakin corny if you ask me. Hopefully they work better in practice than they sound in concept.

I have a theory the hooded man is actually Shion, which would be soooooo awesome. He did survive KOF XI, wasn't present in Saiki's defeat, and oddly enough in XIII's sound test there is a seconds long rendition of his theme yet doesn't appear in the game normally(as far as I know), so maybe it was a clever little hint at to what's ahead?. I'm hoping it's the case,and he would fit thematically with the Chinese Opera mask girl in fighting style. I believe the Official(or Palace Wan as they were incorrectly referred to before) have an imperialistic Chinese theme to their team which could hint to us as to what fighting style the other girl uses. Perhaps some sort of weird acupressure or taoist magic influenced fighting style? Getting a bit WMG here, but if Shion is sort of the warrior martial arts, mask girl is performance arts, so I'm thinking the last girl could use a science or arcane based art? It would make for a pretty cool team dynamic IMO
