Stomach of Infinity - 3
Artifact
Other permanents you control are Food artifacts in addition to their other types, and have "{2}, {T}, Sacrifice this artifact: You gain 3 life."
It takes 'omnivore' to an entirely new level.

Slight tweak needed: The ability refers to the permanent as an artifact but the card doesn't grant the type to non-artifacts.

And actually since I think food is an artifact subtype it would need to.

Curse With Rot - 5BB
Enchantment
Each creature your opponents control is a Zombie in addition to its other types and has decayed. (A creature with decayed can't block. When it attacks, sacrifice it at end of combat.)

Quick Draw Contest (G)
Sorcery
Choose target creature you control and target creature an opponent controls, then you and that creature's controller each roll a die. If you roll equal to or higher than the other player's roll, your creature deals damage equal to its power to the opponent's creature. Otherwise, those creatures fight.

Now that die-rolling is officially part of black border I'm vaguely speculating on ways it could be used in a Western set.

  • Dragonlord Placidusax
  • Legendary Creature - Dragon God
  • Suspend 4 - 2WUR
  • Flying, Hexproof, Trample
  • While Dragonlord Placidusax is Suspended, when you cast a Dragon spell, create a 5 / 5 White Blue and Red Dragon creature token with Flying.
  • XWUR: Destroy all nonland permanents with converted mana cost X.
  • 8 / 8

Flying because duh, Hexproof due to his sky high resistances to most status ailments, Trample because huge dragon. I used Suspend instead of a casting cost due to his nature of being "outside of time", yet having some form of influence - with some suspecting him to be involved with certain dragons. His activated ability is a reference to his lightning nuke.

Command Shock (R)

Instant

Command Shock deal 2 damage to up to X targets, where X is the number of opponents at the start of the game.

For each distinct opponent targeted by Command Shock, double the damage of Command Shock.

(My intent should be clear here; a slightly buffed version of Shock that helps red in commander.)

CountDorku Since: Jan, 2001
#14988: Jun 21st 2022 at 2:41:27 PM

[up] I would argue that if you want slightly buffed, you probably should not have the doubling part, because in a 4-player game that makes it able to do 16 damage to 3 targets for one mana with no other costs and that, ah, that is not a slight increase over 2 damage to one target.

Edit: If I'm doing the maths right, in a game with six or more players, that would be a turn one win.

Double edit: Realised that the doubling included the first opponent and made sure to include that in my calculations.

Alchemy only card.

Get On With It! (R)

Instant

This spell can't be countered.

Cast this spell only when your opponent's timer fuse appears. If they have no timeout extensions, you win the game. Otherwise, they lose all of their timeout extensions. If it's their turn, end the turn. If it's your turn, exile all effects on the stack that they control and they lose priority for the rest of the turn except to cast Get On With It!

Oh, I love this scene!

[up]Why would you hand your opponent such a huge advantage, though? You might as well have a card that says "whenever target player would conjure a card, they conjure that many Black Lotuses instead."

I think there was an ask on Mark Rosewater's blog recently about how cards aren't allowed to do specifically that.

His example was you can't use Black's "Do two damage gain two life" and "lose two life draw two cards" to make a card that did "do two damage and draw two cards".

CountDorku Since: Jan, 2001
#14995: Jul 11th 2022 at 1:39:28 PM

He's mentioned it in response to several asks over a few years, yeah. There are a lot of ways to contort the mechanics a colour or colour combo has access to into "destroy target creature" when it's not supposed to get that, or similar pie-breaking antics, and he is not a fan of any of them.

Card tax with similar shenanigans:

Murder But Blue 2 (1UU)
Instant
Put target creature on top of its owner's library, then that player mills one card.

Murder But Green (1GG)
Instant
Create a 1/1 green Snake creature token with deathtouch. It fights target creature an opponent controls.

Murder But Simic (1UG)
Instant
Target creature gains flying until end of turn, then destroy that creature if it has flying.

Murder But Selesnya (1WG)
Instant
Target creature an opponent controls gets +4/+4 until end of turn, then destroy that creature if its power is 4 or higher.

@Durazno: They're very different things, though. One is a thing blue isn't supposed to do, one is a thing blue is supposed to do, just undercosted.

Cyriak, Prince of What (3UR)

Legendary Creature - Human Wizard

Creatures and Planeswalkers you control other than Cyriak, Prince of What are Horrors in addition to their other types.

Whenever a Horror you control attacks, defending player mills three cards and you create a token that's a copy of that creature that's not legendary. If it's a Sheep, it enters with a Flying keyword counter on it.

Instant

Split-Second

Cast this spell only when any player casts a counterspell. Those players lose the match. (A player who loses the match loses the current game and automatically concedes all remaining games in a best-of-three match.)

Yeah, those guys tried some tricky tricks on me. You can still see where I smashed their faces into the pavement.
