^ Another exchange made all the more funny by Kif's reaction.
Come to think of it, the Amazon episode is pretty interesting as well because it establishes the two-part nature of Kif's character: in context with Zapp he is played very differently than in context with Amy or the main characters.
In one situation he is if not forceful at least more confident, more all-about-business in the way he acts, and of course a lot more sardonic and dry witted. Much of his appeal there comes from him being the competent straight man.
In the other situation he's a lot more easily flustered, more finicky and less deliberate, and much of the appeal comes from his insecurities - when he's with the gang he's almost never the straight man.
It's pretty interesting how they basically play him in two very different ways Depending On The Episode. In "Two Hundred Big Boys" they even use both characterizations in the same episode - usually they only have his appearances in episodes be limited to one characterization or the other.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. How the heck did he get a motorcycle at the end of one episode?!!
A show that spans 8 seasons is NOT in any way Too Good to Last! It lasted 8 years not counting the times it had off!
And this news about its cancellation? Meh. It was uncanceled before. I'm not feeling the impact.

Maybe, maybe not. :P
You fell victim to one of the classic blunders!"elected not to renew" isn't quite the same as "canceled".
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt had a good run - best to not let it deteriorate like some shows I know all too well about, IMHO.
RIP.
Even if I had different face, I AM STILL DISGRACED.Wow, that's sad. This show has definitely gone way downhill since the revival, but it was always comforting to know that new episodes were still being made. Hopefully these last 13 will close it well. If not, who knows, maybe it'll get revived again.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
How very neutral of you...
Kris Straub points out who caused this.

Fresh-eyed movie blogKris Straub has nothing to do with the production of Futurama.
Fresh-eyed movie blog^^^ Wait, where does he say the fans caused the cancellation exactly? It seems like he's more just calling out fans for being fickle.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Okay, that's not quite the same thing. I'm still twisting it a bit, I guess.
Fresh-eyed movie blogI was poking around last season on Netflix, and found an episode I completely don't remember. It's the one about fox hunting. No idea how I would have missed it.
Fresh-eyed movie blogIt had Patrick Stewart in it! You poor, poor man.
So is there any hope Futurama will be picked up by another network? (like... CN?)
Yeah, I spent the whole episode going, "that can't be Patrick Stewart, sounds a bit off, and I would have heard about it..."
Fresh-eyed movie blogit would be nice to see Futurama come home again...
Oh so they keep South Park (which IMO is overrated as hell) and yet they're dismissing Futurama? Seriously what the fuck?
"I don't give a rat's ass about going to hell. I guess it's because I feel like I'm already there." -MugenAt least the last season has started off okay.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.SP is their cash cow, their Simpsons, if you will. Plus there’s lots of swearing, violence, references to currently popular celebrities and explosive diarrhea jokes, which is all the general Comedy Central audience wants. Well, at least that’s what the suits think.
I was thinking that these two episodes were better than most of what we got since the series was revived. The reveal in the second episode was priceless, and really did take me by surprise. I think they want to go out with a bang.
Confirmed Bachelors: the dramedy hit of 1883!
Yeah, that one is probably my favorite too.
