Yeah, her antics passed the funny->creepy threshold awhile ago, and that's even without considering the potentially non-canon stuff from the Railgun anime, like her humping Mikoto's giant teddy bear.

And I really hope nobody was surprised by Aogami's involvement in this arc, because come on.

I just read the latest railgun chapter...Could the events of this chapter possibly be a reference to the celebrity nudes leak? Or am I just over thinking it?

I don't think it's referencing it.

But I definitely couldn't help thinking about it, and it just made it more disturbing.

It might be a general reference to the way celebrities are treated as sex objects, but I don't think it's referencing that specific event. If somebody had got a hold of Mikoto and Misaki's sex dreams, then maybe, but this is more the equivalent of photoshopping porn of famous people.

Aah, I guess so. The combination of it's timing and the filler nature of the issue made me jump to that conclusion.

The best of them, anyway. Ring-Haired Girl apparently just recorded a random dream and gave it to Mikoto, but Pierce was implying that he could pick and choose the girls in his dreams.

So Yen Press released an excerpt of Old Testament volume 1 to read.

So far so good, still wondering if I really want to waste my money on something I have already read. It would have been interesting to compare with the (TOTALLY LEGIT) other translation if it hadn't been taken down.

Not alot of major differences from the BT version, though it did feel a little smoother to me. Might just be my imagination though.

It's not really a waste if it supports the franchise and ensures we get more official translations. Hell wouldn't having an actual physical copy of the novel be reason enough itself to get it?

Β It's not really a waste if it supports the franchise and ensures we get more official translations.
I should have specified, I meant 'wasting my money' in the sense that I already needed to buy far more pressing things soon, such as gifts for my family and close friends for Christmas, as well as things for myself such as books I haven't read, games I haven't played, and series I haven't watched, all of which I planned to get long before this translation came along.

So To Aru volume 1 is by far on the bottom of my list of things to buy in priority, if simply by virtue of not being a new experience for me. This applies to the "more official translations" sales pitch argument as well since it doesn't concern me for the forseeable future.

Hell wouldn't having an actual physical copy of the novel be reason enough itself to get it?
Not really, no.

There appears to be a mistake in Misaka 00000's profile. According to it, "Full-Tuning" inherited "Dolly"'s memories after her death, but according to both character's articles on the Toaru Majutsu no Index wiki, the scientists cloned Dolly and then gave the new clone Dolly's memories after her death, with Full Tuning being a completely different clone that has not been shown at all as of yet, not even in a flashback or in official concept art. Furthermore, only Full Tuning has her serial number as "00000"; Dolly is just given the title of "Number Zero" in Japanese with the furigana reading of "Prototype".

Which is telling the truth?

Well, neither are official sources. So "neither" is also potentially an option.

I'm not sure if it's ever explicitly said what the deal is?

The thing is, the wiki cites the editor of Railgun as the Word of God source. This is what I want to verify.

On another note, for anyone who's interested, someone wrote a fanfic about a Misaka Sister being ordered by her psychologist to write down her private thoughts into a diary. I don't think said psychologist meant for her to write down all her thoughts down. [lol]

Fun fact: Misaka-11111 discovered by Chapter 3 that she does not like being wet.

Looks interesting. I notice that the author elected to simply ignore the self-narration. While I've never had too much of a problem with the Third-Person Person or Narrating the Present tropes applied to the girls, I've tried writing fanfic for them, and it gets bothersome quickly.

... Uh, no, he does retain the self-narration, though only for verbal communication. I persume he reasons that since the diary is written in the first person, then a Misaka Sister would see no need to add "Misaka said" and the like, as it should be already evident that she's the first-person speaker.

Another fun fact: There is at least one trope whose name is referenced almost word for word.

Er, no, the ones doomed by canon are Misakas 00000 to 10031. #11111 is over 1000 "higher" in numerical order than Misaka 10032.

Oooh, another hilarious discovery: #11111 (and apparently most/all Misaka Sisters) is paranoid about threats to their life. Read the fic to see what I mean.

Oh, and try to spot the instance of Suspiciously Specific Denial on #11111's part.

What is this nonsense about therapists existing in Academy City. Come on, why can't people at least write believable fanfics?

Joking aside, I'm pretty OK with this.

Besides, Academy City must have an interest in how their higher-level Espers' psychological processes work, right? It's the basis of Esper powers, after all. And who would know how the mind works better than a psychologist/psychiatrist?
