Inception, mass brainwashing/subliminal control, potentially a drug allegory (depending on how this develops)...
Anything is possible in Academy City!
decided to read the Railgun manga from the start.
i conclude that we need moar Kongou.
Secret SignatureYes. Yes we do.
There's just something so... charming about her special brand of idiocy.
I've always wondered why she appears so little after having that focus chapter to introduce her. After Mikoto and Misaki she's probably my favorite Railgun character.
One more day until New Testament 11!
So, according to the preview, Misaki's currently 13-14? Godammit Kamachi, do you know anything about how biology works?
Animu aging!
Secret Signature^^ In the present or in the novel?
In the present. Novel's a year earlier.
She's two to three years younger than Touma.

ouch.that will hurt Misaka huh.
Secret SignatureEh, in that case it's just standard anime stuff. It's less weird than stuff like Tsukuyomi if you ask me.
And she should only be one to two years younger.

maybe she tried some weird stuff during Exterior.
Secret SignatureDoesn't change the fact that it's still silly.
I'd have less of a problem of we didn't go from:
(emphasis not added) to Misaki as we know her in a year.

Shrug. Honestly, I still prefer it to Mikoto worrying that she's going to be flat forever when she's only fourteen and everyone treating it like a given that she will be.

Everything to do with breasts in this series is problematic.
Kanzaki: Totally eighteen.
Othinus: Ten thousand.
Tsukuyomi: Twenty five or more
Index: Fourteen or so
Misaki: Fourteen
Laura Stuart: Probably as old as Fiamma
Sounds legit.
As a person who's only read the manga (plural), about half those names are unfamiliar to me. >_>
Very few of them look their age.
- Looks like she's about 25
- Fifteen
- Six
- Twelve
- Seventeen or so at least
- Teenager
Can anybody summarize World War 3, GREMLIN, and NT 10 to me?
As I understand it, Fiamma is an Ax-Crazy member of another diabolical church, who wants Index for her Grimoires, and the storyline jumps between Toma (going to...?) trying to rescue her, while Accelerator goes to Russia to rescue Last Order. Gremlin, meanwhile, is another evil organization headed by Othinus, who is a Physical God who can only succeed half of the time and needs a spear to gain 100 percent success. Othinus fails at this, but failing at not becoming a full Magical God... makes her a Magic God...? Afterward, Touma shatters her illusion, then fights to make sure she isn't axed without a trial, then has to fight her anyway, Othinus is transformed into a pixie, and then... NT 11?
Any of that sound right?
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Yep.
Welcome to A Certain Magical Index, where stuff just gets absolutely ridiculous.
Now for an actual answer: Fiamma's a member of a group within the Catholic church and needs Index to fine-tune his power. Othinus is demoted from god to fairy, which makes her fail at everything - so she tries to not become a magic god and fails, which means she is one (which, yes, is bullshit). And then pixie, because Kamachi realized that Othinus can't just Karma Houdini her way out of this but still wanted a "happy ending" and couldn't come up with anything better.
I mean, if Kamachi would ever just let someone die, that at least might lead to something interesting with how, say, Touma handles it. But nope, pixie.

also,GREMLIN 2:We More OP Than U shows up.
Secret SignatureWould it be appropiate to name the whole franchise as A Certain Magical/Scientific Franchise or A Certain Magical and Scientific Franchise for convenience? I mean, we already have the Fan Nickname of "A Certain High School" (probably a punny allusion to both the franchise's installments' titles as well as to Touma being sometimes/often called "a certain highschool student" when his name is being thinly veiled for whatever reason). And there are a few spin-offs that have the title format of A Certain Magical and Scientific X...

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.A Certain Magical Index. Everything else is considered a spinoff.
So, Railgun: Inception chapter?
