Iroh comes in playing the Tsungi Horn, the conflict is instantly settled.

Sorry, I still don't see it.
Perhaps a better analogy would be "The Vietnam War should have ended as soon as Jane Fonda went to North Vietnam. She sacrificed her bourgeois lifestyle to support the North Vietnamese people!" Sure, but she didn't represent the U.S. in any official capacity and in fact most Americans despised her for what she did.
It would be similar in this situation. Sure, it would be a nice, symbolic gesture, but again, it doesn't actually fix the problem, and just like Fonda, Mako doesn't represent benders in any official capacity. Being a pro-bender makes him a minor celebrity at best. And like how Americans saw Fonda, I'd be willing to bet there would be benders who would call him a "traitor" for doing that.
Now, you might get somewhere if say, a Council member gave up their bending to become the non-bender representative or something. But even then, I don't think it'd be a sure shot.
...No that'd be stupid. I gotta agree though, I'm not really liking your theory Batfan. It sounds sort of cheesy. Sorry :/

Ok I'm convinvinced. It is kind of cheesy. I just feel that something drastick has to to be initiated for peace talks to even start.
I'll just stand here... and... pose.Theory time : anybody believes that it will one day be reveled that if Mako saw his parents get killed before his eyes, Bolin actually killed the mugger to protect Mako right after that, leaving some deep psychological scars on the six years old?
On the topic of Mako and Bolin and their background, had a thought similar to what someone suggested earlier (that their father was a Triad). I have a theory in light of their name, that the Agni Kais were started by Former Regime Personnel and/or disaffected Fire Nation soldiers. We saw in the first series those Earthbender soldiers extorting locals, and it isn't much of a step to think some soldiers (of any of the nations) might decide to make that a full time job.
So, what I think is that you basically have the Agni Kais, the Red Mansoons, and whatever their Earthbender equivalent is (The Rolling Stones?), that are like supremacists of that element/nation, and then the Equal-Opportunity Evil Triple Triad Thread. I don't know why their parents were killed by the Agni Kais (maybe because of intermarriage), but I predict that the boys joined the TTT because of promises of getting revenge on the killer.
HodorMaybe the season will end with Amon taking away Korra's bending and Asami escapes and travels the world telling everyone how awesome the avatar is, so everyone can believe in her. And then everyone thinks Avatar at the same time and Korra magically gets her powers back and kicks some Equalist ass and Amon dies but not really, cuz he has to be back for the series finale.
NOOOO!
I don't think there's an earthbender-only Triad because the metalbending cops would shut them down instantly, considering you have to be amongst the best earthbenders to be a metalbender. Any triad that tried to establish itself as earthbender-only would get their arse handed to them on a silver platter.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. That, or the Triple Threats squelched/absorbed them.
That does make a whole lot of sense. Does give me a cool idea for an antagonist- an Earthbender Dirty Cop/ corrupt ex-cop who does have metalbending powers and can create bullets, throwing stars and such.
Also, bet Bolin will learn metalbending. As the "Sokka" of the group, he "needs" to Take a Level in Badass just like his predecessor.

HodorI'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Mako and Korra to have some firebending lessons with Zuko. Just for the pure fangirl squee it will emit. Or he could teach Asami how to use dual blades.
Bolin will become a cop. He'll be the silly inexperienced half of a good buddy cop movie.

I keep expecting Korra to learn how to commune with her past selves.
And then when she finally, after harsh, intensive study involving at least one Fly or Die moment, she finally gets to meet Avatar Aang...
And he's still an attention-seeking, immature goofball trying to master the "spinning a pebble with airbending" trick in the spirit world, only now he looks like Abraham Lincoln.

Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies. If that's true Aang would've met a rash impatient Roku. I did like the theory of him appearing as a child to her, because that's how he sees himself and that's when he saved the world and such, though I doubt that'll be the case though.
I feel like he'll be ridiculously wise but have a bit of a sense of humor as well like Roku.
I'm now imagining the old Aang as Iroh. The image is hilarious.
Still not embarrassing enough to stan billionaires or tech companies.Someone posted a picture (maybe a fake) that showed Aang and a line of the other Avatars, and it showed Aang as looking like a kid but wearing a fake beard.
HodorOk, that was absolutely fake without a doubt.
Loves feel-good animation a whole lot. That was very fake. It was just an end-series image of Aang edited into the line-up shot from the scene about the downside of the Avatar-state.
"The marvel is not that the Bear posts well, but that the Bear posts at all."Korra Nation updated with a screencap and line from the episode. Looks like Korra's pretty pissed at Tarrlok. Tarrlok, meanwhile, looks like he doesn't give a shit.
@Math: No that's Zuko. Zuko will act like Iroh, it's my head canon damnit!
OH SNAP. *runs to Korra Nation* Wow, could Tarrlok give less of a shit about the demi god with hormones yelling in his face?

I'd actually go so far as to say that he's got a smug little smirk on his face there. Bastard has an ace up his sleeve.
Aw yes, Smug Snake Tarrlok is the smuggest of all.

Loves feel-good animation a whole lot.Any theory to what morally questionable thing Tarrlok is going to do?
edited 1st Jun '12 3:37:54 PM by KSonik
I'm guessing some sort of crackdown on non-benders.
He's going to use more perfume. It's morally questionable according to Ikki.
A single phrase renders Christianity a delusional cult
@ Ikkin: Word of God is that Azula and Iroh will both be making an appearance in the part comic. I get the feeling Iroh will probably play a vital part in striking a balance and solving the conflict.
@ Enzeru: While I agree that Bolin does need some development like perhaps building on his implied inferiority complex when it comes to Mako or how he's a tad naiive, wouldn't exactly put Asami on the well rounded list yet. I mean yeah she's starting to get development, but I don't think she's as complex as say Korra is in some episodes.
