I remember last year. Despite the event maps being in official server rotation nobody would fight the boss characters. It was a pain in the ass.

I don't think I was ever on a server around that time where we ever beat Merasmus; nobody would stop shooting each other despite all the openings for one. Although MONOCULOUS!! we had far more luck on.

The Killing people while a boss appears thing has always been a rather nasty problem. Ever since Monoculus first appeared that's been a issue and people have been arguing over it ever since. Merasmus just made it worse via being a boss that can only killed by both teams working together. This isn't even getting into the assholes who kill people on the Islands.

Does that mean Invasion is going to be the same as Gun Mettle, with Contracts to get specific Crates to get new Weapons? I don't really want to buy a Ticket to do missions involving Killing Aliens to get Sci-Fi themed Weapons.

It seems awfully greedy to me to constantly do the "Buy Ticket, Participate for Crate, Buy Key for Crate" system if they really do that with the Invasion update (Which we all know is the next update, obviously).

Halloween Items are now YEAR-ROUND.

There's probably gonna be several more campaigns like this one in the future. It's proven to be an effective way of making money, no way they'd stop it now.

Hopefully they'll at least improve parts of the system, though. I'm sick of doing contracts and getting basically garbage for it every time. Or crates that I can't even open.

The best way to create change is 1) don't open the crates and 2) complain very LOUDLY on the forums. 3) duplicating the expensive skins

I like the idea of these Contracts, but I'm not partial to the Double Unlock of having to then buy keys to open the crates you already "bought" with your token.

Yeah, I'm thinking I may skip the next round of contracts. I'm not even interested in any of the weapons, really. Might as well save a few bucks. If I really want them, I can buy the shinier ones through the Warehouse or the Steam Market.

Odd that there's no decorated variants of the Syringe Gun or Grenade Launcher.

Syringe guns and grenade launchers are sorta the secondary weapons of their classes...

It's an odd feeling when you end up on a server as an absolute best or second best player.

Then again, amongst the opposition was a sniper who couldn't hit a medic standing still from a couple of feet away.

Then you go to another server and everybody rolls all over you. .-.

Sometimes I'll be on a roll as Spy, topscoring every round, and then after a while suddenly I'll just start sucking for no reason. Frustrating when that happens.

Yeah, momentum depends a lot on a team. On your average pub with evenly matched teams I typically topscore or at least make top three, but if the teams are really uneven there's only so much you can do.

Well that was an interesting game of pass time. I was sent to a server with only one other person. We decided to screw around and only crouch walk and melee. Not long after the server started to fill up and everyone else joined in. It was fun.

Yeah. Don't you love it when you start with 3 people on each team and then it grows up to 22 people total?

I also love all these little moments spent on doing nothing other than taunting with an enemy or even just approaching one when crouching, spouting a couple of voice commands, thanking each other and proceeding on our merry way.

@Eriorguez: And the frikkin' SMG isn't?

Though to be honest, ever since I got a Strange Low Profile I've tried out the SMG as my Sniper secondary and found it's actually quite useful if you can aim right with it. Just don't go trying to fight a Heavy or Soldier head-on.

People keep telling me you can get headshots as Sniper, but I've tried aiming the SMG at people's heads and nothing ever happens. Maybe it's bugged.

It'd be cool if he had a secondary weapon of some kind. Maybe some sort of long range option...

I have that problem with Heavy. Everyone talks about spin-up, but I don't know what that means.

Is it referring to the time between tickling the opponent with a backstab and then killing them with the tauntkill?

At least you can still do your job. Me, I try to heal people as Medic and all the healing syringes do nothing.

Engineer is OP! He has two primary weapons!

And what the hell is a Sentry?

Maybe they should alter the two Halloween events where if Merasmus or MONOCULOUS! is in play, nobody is able to harm one another, nor are they able to do so when on the way to Loot Island.

I dunno, I feel like keeping teamkilling on at least makes cooperation a bit tougher, though I wouldn't object to them adding that.

Being able to kill each other on Loot Island is just a dick move, however.

Question: Why does Scout have a ton of exclusive voice lines for wearing the Haunted Hat of all hats? What's so special about it to him?

Scout's voice actor offered the lines for free. He had a thing for the Haunted Hat I guess.
