I watched the pilot on iTunes, (though my loyalty is to the star, not the creator) but I liked it. Is there some kind of rule about how long a show has to last before you can write the tropes page?
"I'll die as I lived: a complete and utter tool." -Zexion, Ansem RetortI don't think so.
DumboYou'd have to have mad trope identification skills to get very many tropes out of a single twenty two minute episode. So only the tropers with skills in that category can really pull it off. I'm not very good at it- that's why I rarely make media pages.
I totally support Entry Pimp help for this show. There's a sort of odd appeal this show has that I can't quite place my finger on. It seems like a Deconstruction of Mc Hale's The Soup persona- like, how would a person as smart as all the writers on The Soup put together function in Real Life.
If nothing else there's definitely potential.
See you in the discussion pages. You're allowed to write a trope page for a work of fiction that doesn't exist yet.
Go for it.
SHIKI is dead.OK, I created the page. It's just a preliminary, So Yeah. . .
Edit: Some Guy, to me it plays like a sitcom that's trying to avoid the Idiot Plot. The characters have a degree of Genre Savvy, though not Medium Awareness, and most of the stupidity-driven tropes like Poor Communication Kills aren't in play. Yet.

"I'll die as I lived: a complete and utter tool." -Zexion, Ansem RetortI created the Trivia page for it.
DumboThey're smart enough to recognize problems but not smart enough to know how to solve them, pretty much.
I'm sorry I'm going to miss it tonight. Oh well.
See you in the discussion pages. That was brilliant.....I am so glad I don't have to pimp a terrible show out of loyalty. It's really funny.
DumboExcellent example of lampshade hanging in the second episode, right at the beginning.
Ha, this show really is great. Two favorite things- how the opening part of the episode has sympathetic characters saying racist things without coming off like complete douchebags. Thank you, Community, for showing us that racism is not performed consciously For the Evulz.
Also loved the ending. Tricking Mc Hale like that was, of course, the only way to get him to pass his carpe diem assignment. Not that that makes the fact that he was manipulated and paid a favor at the same time make him feel like any less of a sucker.
See you in the discussion pages.Really like this show - it's smart and fast. One of the big problems with sitcoms is that they have filler - and if you only have 22-minutes, then you should have only either jokes, set-up for jokes, or character development.
https://www.fanfiction.net/~alexanderwalesBleh. Watched the pilot, gave up. It's hard to enjoy a show when the main character is such a douchebag I want to set him on fire and laugh as he burns to death.
You've lost. You're the Bomb Squad after the bomb's gone off. I'm the blast ongoing.I've only seen the pilot so far. Thought it was pretty funny. However, since it comes on during my computer time, like most shows, I probably won't be watching it regularly.
"I can't imagine what Hell will have in store, but I know when I'm there, I won't wander anymore."I'm liking this show a lot, here's hoping they don't screw it over by moving it's time slot around. They've changed it to 8 now, so it gets no Lead In, so we'll see.
I do pretend to be a know-it-all. But secretly, I know I'm not.The Channel101 community (which I'm kinda part of, I guess) made lots of crazy videos to promote the time change (nobody wants to see Dan's show fail), I put them all here, they're great. :)
DumboBumping old thread, but was "Modern Warfare" not the greatest episode ever?
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!No, it was the greatest. It was.
DumboOne of the best shows right now
Modern Warefare was fantastic. I just about lost it when Senor Chang walked in the room with his tiger print Gun and light gray suit acompanied by the sounds of a Asian children's choir
Okay so I powered through all of season one recently. I had seen the first couple episodes, but I hated the focus on Jeff's obsession with Britta so I stopped. Then NBC had a three hour marathon on Thursday of random episodes (including the AMAZING Modern Warfare one), and the focus was obviously shifted so I decided to give it another chance and I luuuurve it now.
Rawr!I love the Christmas episode. "We were just fiiiiiigh....ting. You're right, it is hard to think of another word!"
@Alliterator, that line is amazing.
Abed, Troy, Annie, and Jeff are my favorite characters.
Rated T for TeenDon't forget: Season 2 starts tonight at 8PM. Watch it live; don't just DVR it.
I have a loyalty to the creator so I have to pimp this. Watch it tonight please. NBC. 9:30.
I saw the Pilot, it is pretty good, and sitcom pilots are hard.
