Kekkaishi 312 out...Double Wham!
Okay, the first, not so much. Urakai had it coming, serves them right, arrogant berks. This does, however, highlight the difference between Masamori and Yoshimori. Masamori could only protect himself, while Yoshimori can protect others too.
The second kinda made me sad and angry at the same time. I suspect Hazama tries to do a Naruto and try to seal power into the poor kid or something, and it went out of control or something.

About the chapter itself, I have no idea where the plot is going right now. We will have this flashback and the older brother angsting over the difference in what he wants to do/feel and what he actually does/feels, but after that... What the heck does the Commander want all those people for?!

Yeah, I guess he is better then that. It seems like every time there is a situation where I would expect him to angst, he just goes depressed/Contemplate His Navel for a couple pages then works out something-that-may-lead-to-a-good-plan.
Who knows? A bit of angsting over the fates of other people might be what he needs to feel better about his own actions.

Well, this flashback is going to be shorter then I expected. I thought it would take three chapters at least, not two. Must be too used to how The Big Three use flashbacks xD... (though, their lengths are mostly understandable)

That's the thing. This is different from the Big Three. Look at Naruto, for example, it is now giving feels of wrapping up, by giving us the origin flashback 500 chapters later.
Kekkaishi, on the other hand, is giving us the same feel around chapter 300. Kekkaishi, even with all its fillers, is still more concise, which is one of the things I like about it.

Wowzer, this is why I love Kekkaishi, it isn't all about the main character, or some one with a special mark. Both Sumiko and Masamori don't have that seal, yet they influence the plot so much!!!
On another note, You feel like crying for Tokimori.
