@Smokie: What shitty emo song? (I'm guessing it's a Linkin Park song).

Haruhi-chan AMV (a rarity)

Dear TV Tropes Forums... I'm sorry for leaving you for Gaia. Now I left Gaia and have an affair with Tumblr. Love, me.

Nope. My Chemical Romance, The Black Parade. It's... surprisingly fun, actually.

My contenders for favorite AM Vs (that haven't already been posted):

1, 2, 3. There was a really cool Baccano one set to the song Modern Times but it inexplicably vanished.

Well, obviously I'm not going to be able to pick a complete favourite, watching as many amvs as I do on a weekly basis. But here are a few. Note: It is a crying shame that no one's mentioned Hall Om Mig or Scatman or Everybody's Free (to Watch Anime) yet, but hype aversion's going to keep people from clicking on any link to them I give anyway, so let's just pretend they've already been given their due, shall we? It's not like they're difficult to find.

See, shit like this is why I prefer thieves and rebel scum. This is the first bit of Utena I ever saw, when I was 14. Sorry about the quality; the version my friend had was much more polished.

The only really interesting parts of Shuffle (besides the Chivalrous Pervert best friend and the full niftyness of Shocking Shigure Asa, aka green-haired chick) in one handy amv.

You can't say you didn't see this coming.

An oldie but a goody.

Never fails to raise a smile.

Yay, Miyazaki!

... I have no excuse for this. I apologize in advance

I don't suppose anyone would be willing to help me identify sources for the first one I posted? I know a bunch already, but this is apparently less than half of them:

And somewhere in there, allegedly, are:

...but I only know Air and didn't see it in there.

Okay, this one isn't technically an AMV, but it does take two things  *

I love and show why both are epic.

I've had this on my favorites for a while; don't know why I didn't post it here earlier.

An Excel Saga parody of an Animaniacs parody of the Macarena.

Shay Guy, your first video seems to have been made private, unfortunately.

As for my favorite AMVs? Well, let's get to work.

I've been told that this one captures one of the most epic kisses very well.

This isn't the actual opening theme, but just a very well-done fan production. Incidentally, this is how I discovered this song ("Lights and Anymore" by TRF), as well as the series it's associated with (Wangan Midnight).

And this is how I discovered the song "Sleepless Night" by Megumi Hayashibara. And why I began considering watching Slayers.

And yes, Smokie combo-broke me a few posts up.

No, I don't particularly care; I just want to make sure people know that that wasn't me posting that.

This is when I first became interested in Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha. And then I saw the first episode, and I was like, Augh. This isn't worth it. http://www.ketsuryu.com/amv-clips/falling-higher-par-velho/

This actually made me cry. Avril Lavigne makes me hurt inside, and One Piece reminds me too much of Spongebob Squarepants, but it really is sweet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWlOTWsl90I Hang on a minute, that's not the version I have! Here's the download: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=171226

Awesome Neon Genesis Evangelion piece that weaves a story of its own apart from the original plot, as well as cool music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoZu2RqSOVw

This is a Naruto AMV. It has beautiful, haunting music, and condenses the relationship between the two boys into a bitter sweet reflection on the nature of friendship and futility. Yes, it starts and ends slowly. If you have the patience for it, I highly recommend it. I couldn't find a streaming video of it, so here's the download for it. http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members/members_videoinfo.php?v=171243

Happy song, happy dance, funny images! Yay! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezre_inLhFg

Fooly Cooly, yay! http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x34ikx_flcl-absolute-destiny-shameless-roc_travel

This is where I first heard of Bakemonogatari. The audio is from a Scrubs episode where Ted gets a girlfriend and she has a baby guitar. It's funny. http://video.mail.ru/mail/lepilo2/161/3928.html

This is so cool. The CGI is spectacular. I just can't stop watching this. An AMV for Pale Cocoon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cm5MTej1a3o

Soul Eater meets Nightmare Before Christmas. REALLY good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8g4PKN9HEMg

Gurren Lagann in a preview for 300. It approaches the level of awesomeness that is 'I'll Make A Man Out Of You'. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3GSMPAZhMU

And those are pretty much my favorites.

My anime club's been good for discovering AMVs. Like this oldie (mislabeled; the video's actually called "Odorikuruu"  *

):

...and this one too.

One that wasn't discovered via my club, for the Ami fans. No, not that Ami.

I don't know why I'm posting this. Most Princess Tutu fans have probably already seen it, and it's so spoileriffic that if you haven't seen all of the series, you shouldn't be watching it. Nevertheless...
