This thread is for tropers who have trouble with English and would like some help with the crazy grammar of this crazy language.

Write down what you wish to edit on the wiki. If you have been suspended from editing, another troper might be kind enough to edit for you after your suggestions have been corrected.

The thread is for help and feedback on your own suggested edits.

If you want help correcting other people's edits (e.g., if you find a page which seems to have grammar problems but want a second opinion, or you don't feel able to fix it by yourself) then that's off-topic here, but we have a separate Grammar Police cleanup thread that can provide assistance.

"so evil that becomes a being of pure hate" should be "so evil that it becomes a being of pure hate"

"by tricking Kratos in" should be "by tricking Kratos into"

And that's it.

I'm guessing you're not a native speaker? I'd need to see a set of posts/entries to tell that. I can give you some advice on that last two posts though:

Whats my common mistake when I edit?

would work better as

What's my most common mistake when I edit?

Lacking the apostrophe in the contraction and assuming it's one mistake.

When I edit what do I do wrong for most of the time?

should be

When I edit, what do I do wrong most of the time?

In this case, the first part of the sentence is a different phrase than the second, so it's separated by a comma. The "for" is unnecessary in this case.

Fair enough. I was a terrible speller till high school.

No I have a Learning disability and my mom is not a very good speller ether so I got that from here.

should be

No, I have a learning disability, and my mom is not a very good speller either, so I got that from here.

You could also use Learning Disability I guess, but they're the "same" term, so you want to maintain consistency either way. I recommend commas anytime you change the subject you're talking about. Either and ether are different words, and Rouge Angles of Satin is a normal problem.

so I got that from here.

Based on the rest of the sentence, shouldn't that be "so I got that from her."?

OK for Fanfic Chop Suey Troper Tales: My Raoul Playing with canon characters always end up like this but special mention goes to. A Ben10 rp with Loki. Seeing how we literally run the fan club for Bwen we had that in mind from squire one. But the RP pretty much began with "Ben I'm a mermaid" which of course makes them Not Blood Related. Over the course of the RP we get Vampires (one becoming Gwen's adopted sister.) Heel–Face Turn for Albedo, Vilgax, Rojo, Kevin and Charmcaster. Oh, did I mention Charmcaster is Mermaid too? How about a lesbian nerd? Also, Gwen has a pet sea monster, Ben has a Wookiee and Sartfrie form, and we expies of The Doctor and Ed the second of which is Charmcaster's girlfriend. If that's not enough to qualify he decides that it can't go on without becoming a crossover with FZero, which may or may not be on the same planet as Cowboy Bebop, and since I never played one of the games I shoehorn Samus and Murray into the races.

Edits are bolded. I wasn't sure about "Sartfrie", but it looks like Starfire; is that what you meant?

Since I often do mistakes in english, I tend to keep my edits to simple sentences. It's much easier to keep in check, but I still feel that my phrasing is... ankward.

English has a lot of picky rules and unintuitive exceptions to almost all of them. And bizarre vocabulary distinctions. Bushels of those.

Every language's like that. Except maybe Esperanto, and hardly anybody speaks that one.

(Edited to add : By the way, it's "French people" or "the French".)

IIRC, both persons and people is correct, however people is the significantly more common vernacular. "Persons" tends to get used in legal documents I believe.
