We will dance with GIR, into oblivion.
^^ That's... probably the truest way for the series to go out.
But only after Zim conquers Earth and leads it against an invasion by a Dib-usurped Irkian Empire.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?HEY WHY is invader zim so popular in the anime community?
Because I deem it be so. Alternately because Jhonen Vasquez is a genius. Or some other reason.
This is still a signature.According to wikipedia, this is how it was planned to end:
"Untitled Season Finale Part 1" Unknown 39 Meekrob discover Invader Tenn, and hold her hostage. The Tallest must rescue her. All the Invaders must help, actually. Except Zim. But Skoodge is invited. But the Tallest don't know Skoodge is on Earth with Zim, and Skoodge would get in trouble. So Zim goes, and causes a war to begin. "Untitled Season Finale Part 2" Unknown 40 The war has begun. Other races of aliens begin to fight against the Irkens, including the Resisty from Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars. Dib wonders about Zim being gone, and begins to explore his base and finds out about the war. Skoodge frees Tenn. They escape, and Zim is left. Dib arrives (probably by using the Dib Ship), and begins to fight against the Irkens as well. Dib is named ambassador for Meekrob, and Zim is doomed. "Invader Dib (Series Finale)" Unknown Unknown This was the 3-part episode that was to wrap the series up. Dib, under the control of the evil Meekrob, attempts to kill all living Irkens. In a rush to stop him, ZIM makes a tactical blunder [aka Dib saying "Hey, look over there!"] and is sent into an asteroid. He dreams that all Irken life dies, but awakens in front of a hooded figure who tells him to fight. ZIM defeats Dib, and Dib is put into an Irken facility to save his mind. The hooded figure, who is really Gaz, blows up a detonation device, and ZIM becomes tallest. GIR? He watches it on the local news with Minimoose. Although it cannot be verified, it is said that Dib, horribly scarred, became ZIM's tool of experimentation for warship weapon systems. In an IGN interview, when asked that "had the series continued, would Zim have been able to conquer Earth?", Jhonen Vasquez jokingly responded "Ultimately, my idea was to take his sights off world domination, as ZIM begins to understand that there is a beauty in human life, an understanding that sets him on his path to becoming a public legal defender. I was very inspired by Ben Affleck's powerful courtroom scenes in Daredevil, and I wanted to move people to tears like those scenes moved me. But the show was canceled before any of that, thus leaving our audience of ten unfulfilled.", leaving possibilities of Zim's fate towards the end of the series open.[2]
@ Zam : The style of animation has Anime qualities blended with western animation qualities, and the plot's very dark.
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!It's also utterly insane. Just like some anime (Excel Saga, FLCL...)

That too...
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!I heard for one of the endings that a war would start between all the races and the Irken Empire when Tenn was captured. Zim and Skoogde go to save her but Zim gets stuck there. Then, Dib finds out and teams up with the meekrob to get rid of the Irkens. Zim discovers this and trys to warn his Tallest but Dib tricks him into crashing into a meteorite. Dib then destroys all the irkens and their homeworld but turns out to be a dream and he's been captured by Zim. He escapes to help the meekrob and then the final battle for the universe between Zim and Dib insures. During it, I think, Zim gets caught in some radioactive explosion and wins. Zim gains in height and becomes the new Tallest while Dib either gets stuck on Saturn or becomes a slave for Zim's weapons testing.
^ That's by far the best ending.
- sob* Thaank-you... ( A cannot help myself, I must quote in 3...2...)

YOU! OBEY THE FIST!I have to admit that I'm disappointed that invade zim never got a real ending. I always rooted for zim to win.

YOU! OBEY THE FIST!he was [[Psychonauts Raz]].
edit: what's up with this thing?
the best ending would be Gir taking over the world and making friends with everybody: that way, both Zim and Dib lose!
Zim doesn't get to rule Earth and Dib doesn't get to expose/destroy the Invaders. It's a perfect Lose/Lose!

That would be pretty cool.... GIR as an overlord...
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!Err... I know Zim's cute and all, but I'm actually hoping that nothing completely horrible happens to Dib. I mean, he'll probably end up a butt-monkey like usual, but I don't want him to go to Zim for weapons testing or anything. Remember fans, Dib is a bit demented for some of the things he wishes will happen to Zim, but the same applies the other way around as well.
Other than that, all I really want in the finale is a final epic battle between Zim and Dib (I don't especially care who wins because I love both characters), some laughs, and an ending that makes it seem like it isn't all over.
Dib is a little demented about Zim. I mean, he drew zim being sliced up, organs flying everywhere, for crying out loud! That's also why ZADR wouldn't work.
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!The sheer vindictiveness against Dib that's present in those so-called endings is a pretty good giveaway that there's some fan modification and expansion going on there. Wishful thinking, basically. Zim was the more popular character with the fans, but Dib was Jhonen's favorite character (see here and also here◊), and for all that he was the Butt-Monkey the only episode that displayed a similar level of vindictiveness against the guy that those scenarios have was "Gaz, Taster of Pork"... where the ending wasn't Jhonen's idea. (See here. Actually his original proposed ending sounds suspiciously like a Crowning Moment Of Heartwarming, no wonder they had to change it.) These "trapped on Saturn" or "weapons testing guinea pig" ideas are somewhat new to me, which is also something of a giveaway: I've been a fan since the original run, and there hasn't been much new information leaked since the cancellation. What has come out, I've paid attention to. So when I hear something I hadn't heard before, with a source whose information chain dries up once it reaches some anonymously-edited wikipedia article, well... I'm a mite skeptical, to say the least.
"Jhnen V: Hmm..fanfic stuff?
Jhnen V: They have some pretty twisted ideas, some that I've seen.
Jhnen V: I don't know if it'd be wise to go with a lot of what they come up with.
Jhnen V: They have ZIM and Dib falling in love ideas.
Jhnen V: That makes me ill.
Shane Ivey: So I've heard...
Jhnen V: ill to my belly.
Jhnen V: My ill-prone belly."
Than interview was a CMOF
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!Hah, yeah, that was the most sensational part of the interview. Caused a bit of a firestorm at the time.
I used to hate hate hate ZADR passionately and yell at people who wrote it or defended it (which I am not proud of). But I wore out my ability to care. The main thing that "irks" me about the fandom these days is the insane amount of misinformation I'm finding myself correcting on Tropes, sometimes over and over again. Zim is sixteen in "Irken years"! (no.) Membrane keeps his dead wife's head in a jar! (what?) Jhonen hates his fans! (ARGH that one just infuriates me. What kind of "fan" tells other fans the creator hates them? That's not something you do to a guy you're a "fan" of, it's something you do to a guy you hate.)
^ You go anonymous Troper! I am a fan nut of the show, but I'm more of a fan of the Clever writing, and artsyness of the show. And, I also think GIR and Zim are FREAKIN ADORABLE! ( yes, I know GIR wasn't suppose to be cute, and Zim's a homicidal maniac, but I like GIR as he is: A crazy, insane Cloudcuckoolander with an adorable puppy suit! And Zim... I dunno, I just think he's cute too. Must be the buggy eyes and Super-deformed look.)
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!Personally I'd prefer an ending where Dib succeeds in taking over the Irken homeworld. And then the empire.
The ending to "Foodcourtia" made me explode with laughter! It was GREAT! I wish I could link it...
YOU! OBEY THE FIST!
I think a good ending would be Gir taking over the world, sure the world be in mass chaos, but at least he would be happy.
