The title works because it's a pre-existing term. You're right though, it's a hard one to figure out a redirect for.

^For that last one, I'd just say Emergency Bluff.
Fake Emergency Bluff sounds like it's running into double negative territory.

Emergency Bluff is pretty good.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSounds like a bluff you'd make in an emergency, though.
We're not just men of science, we're men of TROPE!Yeah, it sounds like a bluff you use in emergencies, not that the emergency itself is a bluff.
It looks like somebody went ahead and made Emergency Bluff... except, they just copy-pasted the old text into it, instead of making it a redirect. Since they'd already made the page, I changed it to a redirect.
Bumping this and suggesting Fake Emergency?

Guess who, it's Kaosubaloo!I thought it didn't have to be an emergency, though. In fact, an emergency is just one of many situations in which it may be used.
Bump
Also, how 'bout "Trust Me, I'm Acting Like a Doctor"?

^ Ooh, I like Refuge In Authority.
Funnily enough, this is a bit like the recent discussion of A.I. Is a Crapshoot in that the examples, while largely coherent, do not agree with the trope description (and neither does the page quote) - as implied by the redirect Emergency Bluff, the trope as described is "faking an emergency in order to get people to do what you want", but in practice, it's "feigning authority in order to get people to do what you want".
Overall, the two principles can be combined into one: "assault someone with the notion that they should follow your instructions and they will do so without question."
Mind, Refuge In Authority doesn't touch upon the fact that said notion is based on false premises. But it does nicely outline the trope.
I really like Refuge In Authority!
It sounds a lot like Refuge in Audacity, which is a related trope.
I dunno. What if it's a too-similar-snowclone?

So, anything else?

"Refuge in Authority" seems like a variation of "Do what I say because I'm in charge" instead of "I'll act like I'm in charge for people that just go with stuff like that".
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Just chiming in ... how about "Authority Imposture"?

Let's just say and leave it at that.
honestly from all the tropes i've seen this is the hardest one to automatically understand from the title. as there are no redirect whatsoever (and as far as i can tell the title works, it's always used without misunderstanding that trope) i have to ask which Redirect would you suggest (yes, i know they are free but i cannot think of anything)
It's not exactly naive. And it can happen. But it's tough. And definetly worthwhile.
