Athena #3 next week? Oh boy.

Wow, Tony sure is lucky this Wanda doesn't have the same issues as comic or movie Wanda. otherwise him toying with her emotions like that would have blown up SPECTACULARLY in his and everyone's faces. Literally.

so I just watched the Atop the Fourth Wall Movie and um...that wasn't good. at all.

I liked it. It was fun! Cheesy fun, but still fun. And what's wrong with that?

Ehhhh, I like cheesy fun, but this was distinctly missing the "fun" element. And all the times it was trying to be philosophical and deep, like, it was trying to be so much more than what it was and falling flat on its face to the point that it dragged the whole production down and gave it an air of pretentiousness.

Man Athena seems really boring. I feel like maybe I'd enjoy it though if they focused more on the cop aspect.

I don't know. I don't think you can have enough scenes of her in fanservice outfits if you focus on her being a cop.

If you ask me, it seems odd to make Athena into a cop. From her pantheon description (justice and wisdom), it'd make more sense if she became a lawyer, prosecutor, or judge.

There is someplace you should go if you want to see Athena as a lawyer.

How is her being a cop in contradiction with justice?

It's not a contradiction but her purview doesn't match as much. Athena's general mythological characterization as the great arbiter and decider of innocence seems more befitting of someone in court rather than a cop, whose job is to pursue justice, not decide who's guilty and who's not. Cops catch criminals, they do not deliberate on their innocence (that's, again, the court's job).

Unless they're Judge Dredd, I suppose.

It's not like being a cop is totally unfitting, but I feel she'd be more at home in court. Likewise, Ares sounds more like he'd be a SWAT team officer or a military man rather than a regular detective.

As a war goddess, wouldn't being on the front lines be more fitting?

Not really as she was the goddess of war strategy, while Ares embodied the physical aspect of war.

Considering the comic in questioned was sponsored by the American soft drink industry in the free version given to schools, I'm surprised Linkara didn't make a Call-Back to when he misread "PCP" as "pop" in his review of the first Titans anti-drug PSA.

I don't know why but that review was particularly funny to me.

I'm just happy (and jealous) he has Starninniger's burger morpher.

What other series would you like to see Linkara do a retrospective on? I'd like to see him do one on post Crisis Wonder Woman.

He's mentioned being a fan of the Justice Society before, so I'd like to see that.

But yeah, Wonder Woman would be great too.

He could do one on starman give a review of a good james robinson written series while giving love to a sadly overlooked legacy of a character created by gardner fox

I'd love to see a retrospective on any major Marvel superhero but that's just because I'm a Marvel fanboy. Or rather, I prefer Marvel to DC.

I'd be interested in learning more about basically any superhero, though, since I don't really read comics and thus know very little about them.

Considering Linkara has admitted to being a fan of the Marvel's The Transformers comics, I've been wondering if he'd ever to a retrospective on that.^note Although it might be a bit tricky if he also covers the UK comics in such a retrospective, since he covers issues of a given series in chronological order, and even hardcore fans of the franchise still scratch their heads at where all of the UK stories fit into the comic's overall timeline.
