I heard he feigned his death to escape his stalkers and assorted Internet trolls.
...who?
Oh, you mean proto-Sonic. Good riddance.
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows.Pretty sure his disappearance was due to him being an Expy of Sonic for Knuckles Chaotix (although I think his trait was supposedly super-strength mixed with being a faster character than the others, but I don't remember).
But yeah, I guess SEGA thought that bringing him back in this day and age would make the similarities between him and Sonic stand out more.
Least he's still in the Archie comics. :)
The Protomen enhanced my life.He heard the name of a demon - a trait unique, among mortals, to armadillos - and has been curled into a ball ever since.
@ Komodin WHAT DID YOU CALL HIM? I'LL MURDER YOU IN YOUR SLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP!
Okay, jokes aside, I assume he's traveling the world since.. that's what he does, travel and all.
And if my reactions seem extreme, it's merely becuase I'm huge on the Chaotix, all of them.
When All Else Fails, you have fun and flirt wit da ladies, dats da Drawings way!I can see why. After all, they're detectives you want on your side.
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderMighty quit his job as a Sonic character because he somehow predicted the Fan Dumb.
He quit to work on his band with some guys he knows from college.
He tried to desert to Nintendo but was assassinated by Nack before he could complete the deal.
The term "Great Man" is disturbingly interchangeable with "mass murderer" in history books.PERFECT!!!
I am completely, utterly, and thoroughly done with Sola Sonica and 2DI feel a bit bad for Mighty. He was cute. Looked more like a cockroach than an armadillo to me, but eh. Oh well...he still lives on in the comics and there's always replaying Knuckles Chaotix...
On that note I miss Nack too.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahThey should bring Nack back, he's an excellent third party and is selfish money-making ways clash well with the the goody goods and the eggman.

First, it was a game on the NES, named Armadillo, after himself. It was nice being able to work near home, in the desert, and the music they wrote was nice, but players just didn't seem to like how he was hard to control. Plus, it was never released outside Japan, so he never made much money off that production.
When Sega wanted a new mascot, Armadillo auditioned. He almost got the role. But then some cool blue hedgehog stole it from him. Well, at least they gave him a spot in the Sonic arcade game, though he felt kinda miffed at being cast as third player.
Then Capcom decided to switch to casting animals instead of men when they started the Mega Man X series. Armadillo applied for a opening there, and got it in the first game. This is so far his best-received appearance, being the rather difficult boss (if you didn't have his weakness at least) Armored Armadillo. He got to wear cool plate armor, and shoot energy shots from his head. And then go bouncing around the room like crazy. It was awesome.
Capcom hired him back for another stint, for the GBC game Mega Man Xtreme. Unfortunately, they had to work with a lower tech spec budget this time, and the armor he got to wear wasn't as flashy. He did become a tougher boss, though, which was a nice consolation prize. Unfortunately, after that, Capcom went onto other things.
In the meantime, Sega went back to Armadillo for another project, and he starred in the Chaotix Crew. Here, he got some videogame stardom, in Knuckle's Chaotix. Unfortunately, the 32X wasn't that great of a system, and the next time Sega would come back to him for gaming stardom was to cameo a statue of him in another game. However, he enjoyed more staying power as part the Chaotix Crew starring in Sonic the Comic, which ran until 2002.
Yeah, they could easily bring Nack back for when they don't want to/can't use Eggman as a villain in some games, and now that Sega has finally gotten out of their "let's turn this series into Final Fantasy" phase he'd still fit the "cute n wacky" quotient.
I have theorized that Mighty has died due to his dissapearencae.
