But didn't you hear? Angry Birds is an example of why the 3DS and PS Vita and Wii U are failing in the market and why PS 4 and Durango (next Xbox) are going to fail! Everyone should stock up on smartphones and tablets, because this is the future of gaming!
...what do you mean, "but I like buttons"? Screw that, Our Late Lord and Savior of All That is Technology, Steve Jobs, personally said buttons suck, so you'll have a touch screen interface for all games, even ones that wouldn't work with it, and you will like it. The media has spoken!
(...yeah, sorry, but this is one of my pet peeves, and it comes up a lot. I really wish the media would stop sucking Apple's teat at the expense of everything else in any tangentially-related market. I really don't like Apple, mostly because of this unabashed and excessively biased can-do-no-wrong attitude they get from all media outlets.)

Angry Birds is the commercial high selling equivalent of Touhou or My Little Pony where it has to be shoved into, referenced in and forced into everything nomatter what.
To be fair, Angry Birds doesn't have an obnoxious hyper-active Fan Dumb who facilitates said growth beyond all logic and reason.*

The worst part of Angry Birds is that it garnered such immense popularity on stolen ideas. It's a reskinned Catapult game, they practically make up the infrastructure of every flash game site out there. And yet not only does it make huge bank every day, but the developers act like they're somehow changing the industry for the better by doing it.
Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!

Re: Pony: it's a pretty great show with a pretty devoted fanbase (if one I had a bit of a falling-out-with over episode numberings and orders, specifically TVTropes's page on it - I guess it's true what they say...), but yeah, the number of articles we have on fanfiction for the show is... ridiculous. It's one thing to have a huge article covering every minute facet of the show, but is every minor fanfic out there really worth a page? I know Theres No Such Thing As Notability here, but c'mon.
On a more topical note... that Mario game actually looks kinda fun. Linear as hell, and the level design's a bit lazy with random floating blocks being used to make walls instead of something a little more grounded to the castle Mario's invading, but the whole reminds me a lot of Super Smash Bros., which isn't a bad thing. Shame the LPer would rather take a lava bath, or say "bitch" more times than the Poochyena guy said "faggot".
