This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.
The Forum Rules apply here.
Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

~Ekuran, you made the exact same promises before. As you've noted, given your near-immediate reversion to what got you suspended the first time, it's hard to take it seriously now. If this suspension gets lifted, you are on some very, very thin ice. A third time would result in your posting privileges permanently restricted. Understood?
~Premonition 45, it doesn't seem you understand what a Administrivia.Zero Context Example is.
Very well. How long should I hold off editing again?
It's not time-based, it's understanding. If you can demonstrate that you understand what a ZCE is, then the issue is resolved and your suspension can be lifted. For example, this was added by you to Characters.Star Trek Reboot and is completely without context.
- Big Brother Mentor: To Chekov in Into Darkness and Beyond.
How can it be edited to have context?
- Big Brother Mentor: To Chekov in Star Trek Beyond, when Chekov asks Kirk how he realized that Kalara was deceiving them. Kirk gives an encouraging answer to the younger Starfleet officer.
Is that a good edit?
Yep, ridiculously stupid of me and I'd deserve permanent banning if this happens again, understood.
So, I've been taking some time to think out my response: Yes, I take full responsibility both times I was banned. Yes, I never worked to improve it the first time (Well, I did, but I was too lazy to use said work) and no, I won't deny that this is legitimate. I've been working on my Example Indentation issues, and now I don't see why I had a problem in the first place, seeing as they were easy to fix. And yes, I am aware if I have the issue again, it will be permanent, and I don't want that.
- Jerkass: Riley1s Cool on his better days.
- Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Riley1s Cool every day.
Does this look any better? If not, I've failed again, and I'll go back to looking at it.
Looking to get unbanned. I'll stop my edit war on the unfortunate implications of 'The Stormlight Archives' and stick to curating other pages.
I'd just like to learn where I stand in appealing my edit ban?

~Premonition 45: It's a little thin, but passable. You've demonstrated an ability to write examples with context, so I'll let you go with the understanding that you should ask yourself if a non-viewer of the work can understand how the example fulfills the trope without looking at other sources. If they can't, it's zero context.
~Ekuran: We'll be keeping a close eye on your behavior in the DC movie threads. Your suspension is lifted with the understanding that a third time will be the end of the road.
~Riley1s Cool: It seems your last few posts haven't been responded to, apologies. If you can fix the below incorrect indentation, your suspension will be lifted.
- Talking Appliance Sidekick: Egg is one.
- So is the toaster.
- The fridge gets mouthy too.
- Don't forget the oven.
~feyhunde: And what is the proper thing to do if your entry is deleted? A tendency to edit war is bigger than a single page.

- Talking Appliance Sidekick: Egg is one.
- So is the toaster.
- The fridge gets mouthy too.
- Don't forget the oven.
This is settled, then, I assume, pretentious as I am.
Incorrect. In cases of multiple examples, the trope gets the single bullet, and each example of the tropes gets two bullets, i.e.:
- Talking Appliance Sidekick:
- Egg is one.
- So is the toaster.
- The fridge gets mouthy too.
- Don't forget the oven.
With more than one example, the first example shouldn't get precedence over the others by being placed on the single-bullet line with the trope name.
I'm assuming that about 5-6 revisions on the Stormlight Archive are why I got banned, despite adding more support each time, each time it was being reverted for lack of support. Tired of doing YMMV pages anyways. Been editing for years here before you had to log in.
D'oh. Well, I suppose, seeing as I apparently still have no clue what I'm doing, it won't be lifted yet. See, and I knew that, which makes it even worse to look at the colossal error I made. Well, thanks anyways. Screw my life.
When you feel you have a better grasp, feel free to come back and we can re-evaluate at that time.
Hello, I was browsing the wiki, and looking on the Creative Differences page, noticed that OS 2 was not mentioned. I believe there was a forum for recommending changes, but I don't remember what it was, and I can't find that post here. I have a proper machine to edit from now, so i should hope my grammar has improved up to code, so to speak.
hi i know why im banned from posting, i want to apologize and say that if that can be undone i will be more safer... i am very sorry guys
'''keep your friends rich and your your enemies rich and then find out which is which."'@meme-logan: You probably should've thought of that before using a sock puppet account to try getting past your ban.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Can I be unblocked now? I don't even understand why I was blocked. I made some legitimate WMG to the Ghostbusters movie, the male bashing one even being proven to be correct from the point of view of many critics, and next thing I see I am blocked because it was unfairly called harrasment. I'll even promise to stay away from that page if its such a big deal.

Those edits you made there look like complaining, which needs to be avoided if at all possible.

she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportAt best I was making it sound humorous and I have seen worse. But I don't feel like fighting it and will just avoid the page entirely if my editing ability is reinstated.
Here's the thing though. This is your second editing suspension. I hope you can give us a good explanation as to why we should give you one of our ultra-rare third chances?
"Yup. That tasted purple."I was going to edit an article when I discovered to my surprise that I have been suspended. This has never happened to me before and I'd really like to make it clear that whatever actions I did that got me in trouble won't happen again.
The only contributions I recall making that went out of line was when I replaced the contents of Why My Little Pony Sucks and its Funny subpage with scathing sentences demanding the articles be cut. I did those things because the completely biased nature of the article ticked me off and, even taking into consideration the No Such Thing As Notability policy, I saw no point in having the article remain when the actual web series wasn't that notable and no longer existed.
I understand now that I shouldn't take matters into my own hands when requests for articles to be cut are not obliged. I am very sorry for not playing nice and promise to be a more open-minded and fair editor from now on.
Because as I said, I still feel like this one was highly unjustified. I see the only reason that page is being so squicky clean of anything that is negative is because of all the controversy around this film. And like I said before, my WMG about this film bashing men or making them all look like idiots turned out to be true, as well as the girls looking at their male secretary like a piece of meat, the only thing i was wrong was that he would file a sexual harrasment lawsuit, and that's mainly because he was so stupid. And my last WMG also turned out to be true, it didn't completely bomb. It still make a good chunk at the box office but overall it still bombed because of advertisement and reshoot costs.

Greetings I just got suspended recently. I apologize for my actions.
I have discovered that my editing privileges have been suspended. If I have crossed the line over anything, I'm deeply sorry.
