This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

I wasn't trying to force an opinion (I did write constructive edits to the Trivia and Film tabs of the same page, so I'm not trying to be "biased" in approaching the article), so I apologize if that's how it came across.
~King Clark: Your case is Fighteer's, but I'd like to note that you have a mass of notifications regarding your edits as well. Also, I agree with the idea that it's premature to anticipate what opinions a work is going to engender.

Oookay, I just found out that I got suspended, so I wanted to ask: 1) Why was I suspended? As I do not believe I have violated any rules, and if I did, please point it out so that I may avoid it in the future
2) Once the reason for my suspension is clear, may I have the suspension lifted? Thanks

I've just been suspended, and I'd like to indeed ask why. I don't intend to contest the reason, since I feel the best course for me would be to learn from the reason, as well as find out how long the suspension is for, since this is the first time in what must be 4-ish years of me editing on this wiki that this has happened.

Hi, I was recently suspended for simply putting down links to other artists in the artist index. what, im an artist, and Solomon mars is an artist so I don't really see a reason why you not only taken those links down, but my entire personal entry on this site about me.
I'm an artist and I writer too, I just want to get my name out there.
so yeah, its been several days and I think I'm ready to try again. I promise I'll focus more intently on proper grammar and spelling from now on and discuss my personal views in the proper forum.

~Rabid Badger 1632: You seem to have it in your head to delete all sorts of examples about Chick Tracts that you don't agree with. I'd like to know why.

If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"The reason was because most of the examples were quite inaccurate and worded to try and demonize the tracts, which is frankly, a bit hypocritical. For example, a series of posts about the "Flight 144" tract stated that the characters in the story are sent to hell because "they're not following Chick's specific brand of fundamentalist Protestantism" and believing that good works get them into heaven. It's hardly a specific brand, as many denominations teach against the common misconception about Christianity that "being good will get you into heaven" which is wholly false. Another one was in the Nightmare fuel section saying that it was "sickening" that the family of the boy who got run over in "Happy Halloween" was cheering and showing no remorse. This shows that they hardly even read the tract and just skimmed over it. The boy's family doesn't even appear in the story. Not to mention the boys friends were shown crying over his death, along with the evangelical woman in the story. And the post also claims that the woman said that "he deserved it because he didn't go to Sunday School". Another inaccuracy, as she states he didn't go to heaven because he didn't accept Jesus. Yet another piece of the post says that in the tract "No Fear" the protagonists are cheering because Dolly got saved and completely disregarding Lance, and therefore the tract is advocating caring about only yourself. Except that Dolly clearly shows sympathy and shock at the realization that Lance went to hell. So there are my reasons. Sorry if it looked like I overreacted with those edits, but I'm a bit passionate about my beliefs and one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone criticizes them with the basis of misinformation.

The only posts I deleted were the inaccurate ones and I clearly stated my case against it, which you didn't even address in your post. I am aware that Chick does some stupid stuff from time to time like with Dark Dungeons and Big Daddy, but other than that he's usually spot on.

Many of the entries you removed were of audience reactions. Each audience opinion is as good or as bad as everyone else's, it does not mean one gets to remove opinions they disagree with. And I have no idea why the entries on DrinkingGame.Chick Tracts would be deletionworthy.

So I was called in to an Ask The Tropers thing because someone kept reverting my posts without giving a reason. I explained why the change had to be made, and everyone agreed with it, so I made the change. Then someone reverted it without giving a reason, and I got stuck with a suspension. What gives?
