Aaaah, I got this manga sitting in my cabinet. Behind the biggest padlock I could find, so that no innocent child would ever have to see this. They would go Mad With The Revelation.
Yeah, it was a cool series. Japanese horror at it's finest. There is just one thing that never stopped bugging me though the read:
What in the world were they still doing there? Maybe they didn't have to run away in panic after the first chapter, but after that thing with the hair, wouldn't the main character think something like 'This town is nuts, and we should get out while we still can'?
I always figured that the ruins were screwing with their heads, keeping them there via the same mechanism that they used to draw in new populations for sacrifice. Remember how many times the town got rebuilt after seriously bad shit went down there?
What's precedent ever done for us?I've read the first two volumes (I can't find volume 3 anywhere), and I must say: The first two chapters and the Scar vortex were creepy, with disturbing images, but the mosquitoes two-parter was definitely the scariest part of the series.
...The Jack-In-The-Box one and the people turning into Snails, though? I found those chapters Hilarious.
The one with the kids riding tornadoes was also funneh.
The last chapter though... nrrgh.
It was mentioned in the third volume that all the sensible people left town about the time the female lead got stuck in the hospital. She would have left, but was stuck in the hospital, and her love interest wouldn't leave without her, and most of the rest of the people were just Dying Like Animals.
So I'm just reading this on Manga.Animea and I just wanted to ask. How exactly do I read this? Is it from right to left like other Japanese Manga or is it the rare left-to-right translations switch?
You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.Dear god, I'll never ever look at spirals the same way again.
Discover the rest as the game progresses.I loved Uzumaki; Gyo, not so much. Haven't read Tomie...yet.
I need to finish Tomie. Great stuff it was.

Its obviously the noise a shark makes when it busts a door down.
In other news: the monster from the chapter involving the spike warts actually reminded me of a Hollow. That is either a good thing, or a very bad thing.

Reading this immediately after going on a Gurren Lagann binge: interesting.
Gyo is a work of unparalleled genius.

I was going to say that Medusa was my favourite chapter, but the placenta chapter and the chapter with the eardrum caused Nausea Fuel, but I'm a second time reader of Uzumaki and I JUST discovered this discussion was up, So Yeah... PS: What's with the double post?

In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!I just love Uzumaki for the hilarity of everything. At some point, you have to wonder why the main character doesn't just FUCKING LEAVE, before it became impossible. It's also hilarious every time the main character dismisses her boyfriend's ravings as him being weird, despite him being ALWAYS RIGHT.
Doesn't compare to Gyo, however.

What's precedent ever done for us?So, uh.
I don't know what this series is about but this is the first anime in a long time that I'm genuinely curious about after watching the trailer. I've jumped from My Hero Academia to Paranoia Agent to Gunslinger Girl to Perfect Blue to Inuyashiki to Dragonball Super to Akira, and it all was starting to blend together.
But this? I have no idea what this show is about except that it's horror.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!
the next chapter was not as severe. The monster sounds like its saying ooogaboogabooga.
