Lollipop Chainsaw was really repetitive. And really, painfully unfunny.
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Mullon... *ahem*
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987If that wason a system I owned I would care.
How is the new Counterstrike fun?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult. My brother somehow ended up with a copy of Mega Man III for Game Boy. He doesn't have the system, so he gave it to me. Good stuff, although I was a little disappointed that it borrowed so much from the NES games.
Weird in a Can (updated M-F)You don't own an Android phone?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987I just tried out Big Picture Mode on Steam. For those unaware, Steam (the PC gaming platform) has a mode designed specifically with T Vs in mind. It's meant to be convenient for those who sit back and use the TV instead of sit in front of a computer monitor with a keyboard and mouse.
The interface is totally different. It's full-screen, and it's designed with the Xbox360 controller for Windows in mind. There's also a typing interface where you hold the stick in a direction to choose from a set of 4 letters and type them by pressing the corresponding button. It's not as complicated as I'm making it sound - search "daisywheel" (which is the name of the typing mode) or "steam big picture mode typing" or something to see what I mean. I tried it out, and it works pretty well, definitely faster than typing with an onscreen keyboard.
So far, for a beta, and having only played around with some of its features, I'm impressed.

I would make a "First World" joke, but I'm technically a Third-Worlder and I have an Android phone, so...
Likes many underrated webcomicsI showed my brother Steam's Big Picture Mode interface, and he said it's rather good, for trying to make Steam work on a TV and with a controller.
I tried out its web browser, but I found it awkward to use. And watching You Tube with it, the full screen mode of You Tube doesn't work very well, it doesn't snap to fill the screen, due to the way the screen slides around when moving the cursor.
I really like the new method of typing. It's an improvement over the onscreen keyboard.
Some games pop up a window menu when you run them, and that requires the use of a mouse. No getting around that. Running Skyrim in Big Picture Mode didn't change that, naturally, temporarily breaking the illusion that I'm playing a game system. Also, Big Picture Mode crashed Steam on me at one point. It's still a beta, and games aren't designed with it in mind, and it shows. I doubt they will be, as the companies that make each game would have to make the changes, or Steam would have to come up with a menu interace individually for each of the games.
I was struck by the strange urge to play Magicians Quest Mysterious Times some, so I dusted it off and played it. Thankfully, unlike Animal Crossing, it does not guilt you to death for not playing for, oh, a year and a half. Of course, now I no longer recognize most of my fellow classmates.
And in a weird twist, not two days after I picked it up again, Konami announces it's getting a 3DS sequel. Huh.

That first trailer looked fun, and I don't usually play those kinds of games.
That's really depressing.
They sucked all the life out of it and turned it into a generic shooter that looks like a ME 3 rip off.
Fucking EA.
They look about the same to me.
It's not over. Not yet.Woah. Way to suck the soul out of a game.
Likes many underrated webcomicsSeriously. Not getting it.
It's not over. Not yet.The first trailer promised a fun, innovative shooter well aware of how ridiculous its premise was. Like Borderlands. The second just looks like a generic FPS with lots of Real Is Brown. Can it still be done well? Sure. But it's definitely a bad sign.
The first trailer was also an EA product. That part leaves me confused.
#IceBearForPresidentIt got the Ninja Theory treatment.
You know what creates a weird disconnect? Listening to a Let's Play of one game while playing another. I like to us L Ps as background noise, and sometimes, yes, I will play another game while listening to them. And I get weird mental thought processes, like playing Zelda and being low on hearts, and thinking "I should split up and use Snooze Pack" because the guy in my background LP is playing Banjo-Tooie. Or hoping for a good dice roll on my training in Monster Rancher, because in the background I'm forcing The Runaway Guys through Mario Party 1 for the umpteenth time.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI'm trying to remember the name of a controversial author. I think he was called Wallstrom or something? He seemed to really have a grudge against Nintendo? I can't seem to find anything abut him anymore so I'd like it if someone could remind me of his name again?
Yeah, it is a really interesting experience specially if the games are completly different.
Or even weirder if they're really similar. I wouldn't listen to an LP of a specific game while I'm playing it, but if you're listening to, say, Donkey Kong Country 2 while playing DKC Returns...
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaI once tried to listen to a LP of The Binding Of Isaac while playing The Binding Of Isaac, it was really weird. Especially when I was in a different section than the let's play.
What's wrong with Lollipop Chainsaw?
Also, I'm having quite a bit of fun with Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
